I had a deep cleaning by one of his friendly and competent hygienists. I saw him twice and he tried to sell me his very expensive electric toothbrush 3 times. I told him I did not want to buy it. He became angry and abusive and accused me of never brushing my teeth. He also accused me of being "so special" that I wouldn't use his toothbrush. He spoke very loudly in a sing-song voice so that people in the adjacent open rooms could hear. I find this extremely unprofessional and will not go back.

Dr. Avera is not a true professional. Because I was upset and let my feeling be known to his staff members, as a result of waiting for over 40 minutes in the waiting room..I filled a cancellation and was very prompt and accomodating..he repremanded me for my behavior..amd continued to be rude and make inappropriate remarks.in front of the hygentist and me. I was sorry for my actions that day..but Dr Avera took it another notch higher. Not good. Needless to say..I will be looking for another Periodonist. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law, plus my husband see him. I saw my last Dr for over 13 years and have never had an incident like this!
