I had neglected the dentist for nearly 10 years, when mouth pain prompted a dental visit. I was shocked when the dentist informed me that "my mouth was above his pay grade", he went on to say that I'd need to visit 2 separate specialists and would most likely loose 5-6 teeth! enter: dr. stansfield! he put forth an 18 month plan to treat and save every tooth. he worked with the insurance also. bottom line: he cares! highly recommended!

This doctor is the real deal. I liked him very much. He was comfortable to be with. Its hard to give full stars only because I am anxious with dentists. Not their fault!

I chipped my front left tooth in half when I was about 13 years old. We called Dr. Stansfield and he came in on a weekend day (the office was closed) for an emergency visit. I was in pain and in shock and Dr. Stansfield did a wonderful fabulous job. He made me feel better and the visit was not painful. He rebuilt my front tooth and told me that it wasn't a permanent fix, and I'd proabably have to come back in a few years to get it permanantly done. Well, it'd been about 13 years and that tooth is looking better than the other front tooth!
I drive from Santa Cruz to visit Dr Stansfield because he is the best.
By the way, DO NOT go to Sunrise Dental in Citrus Heights on Sunrise just north of Greenback. They completely ripped me off. They did some sort of "extreme deep cleaning" on half my mouth that they said I needed, then I went to Stansfield to get a second opinion on the other half, and he told me I had been had. Sunrise Dental also tried to pressure sell me on a bunch of other services I didnt need.

First his hygienist will rip you off. Once your insurance is put out of the pict and you start to pay from your pocket, he takes over.
Implants instead of crowns, crowns instead of feelings, repeated cleanings, and your teeth is kept in the most pitiful condition.
Agree he needs to use whitening toothpaste.
Bad experiende.

Awful experience. He uses cheap resins for his feelings. Himself has some greenish teeth. He also needs to update his facilities.
Poor communication skills. I ended up going to San Francisco, and the new dentist submitted a form to my Insurance showing what he had done so they would authorize the replacements.
A dental rip off.

Great dentist - conservative, particular, knowledgeable - wants everything to be perfect. Great staff - courteous, professional, yet human. Would recommend his practice to all, from child to elder adult. In over 20 years, he has saved my mouth! Crowns, bridges, and especially my front teeth. His staff and hygenists are knowledgeable and chide me kindly when I fail to keep my oral hygiene up to snuff.

I've had Dr. Stansfield for over 20 years, since I was
a teenager. I still travel from the Bay Area to Dr. Stansfield
because I'm fussy about dentists. The folks there have
always been helpful with my schedule, and given
excellent service (and excellent scolding when due).
I'm pleased and proud to recommend Dr. Stansfield
and staff.

He needs to find a more competent Hygienist. His supporting staff is good.
