my unfortunate experience with dr. sims comes from the business end of the operation and not his skill as a periodontist, which in my experience, was excellent. i need to note however, that when my account was past due, dr. sim's santa monica office phoned my 72 year old mother, who is also a patient. !!!!!
this was distressing to both of us. i am 41 years old and in no way is my mother responsible for my medical or financial life. furthermore, the santa monica office did not call me first! when confronted with the inappropriateness of their action, the accountant, cora, defended the action by saying that it was under direct 'orders' from the torrance office and from dr. sims himself--that my mother was contacted. i have now made payment arrangements with dr. sims practice, but will not return. difficult economic times are stressful for all, but this was insulting, as i am a small business owner, working in the same wla location for 15 years--not likely to flee my $ obligations. i told the story to an attorney friend who is sure that the actions of this office were not only inappropriate, but also illegal. i am not a litigious person but i do hope dr. sims / dr. greenberg and other medical professionals will take note.
About Hygienist: the hygienists are excellent, thorough and kind.

Great bedside manner matched by superb technical skill.
Dr. Sims has a unique approach to medicine that places
him at the top of my favorite doctors list. He's been my
periodonist for 10 years and he's achieved very favorable
results....

Wonderful doctor! He fixed my gum problems in 1 week with minimal cost, after I had wasted thousands on other doctors for years, with NO results. He is very experienced & honest. I am so happy somebody recommended him to me!
