Dr. Politis (Dean) and I both attended OPRF a "few" years ago and had several common friends, but never really knew each other. We crossed paths again when I was subsequently recommended to him by my dentist in 1988. I had numerous gum disease issues when I first went to him and he has has professionally treated them all. My periodic visits now are mostly limited to maintenance and cleanings.
Dean's handling of patients is second to none - he explains as much or as little as one wants to know and speaks / educates his patients in layman's terms. Among the medical professionals I see, I know of no one that is more skilled or knowledgeable within their field of specialty. I now travel about 35 miles each way to see him, but it is well worth it.
Finally, to elaborate on my rankings, I selected Very Expensive only because he is not in my Preferred Provider network. So, this is specific to my plan. "Facilities"-wise, Dean doesn't run a "health spa" and his waiting area is rather small - but that's because he's not in the habit of stacking up patients. His equipment is immaculate and usually includes the most modern technologies and instruments available - when it is sensible to have them. Hence, my four star ranking.
About Hygienist: Bernie has been with Dean for somewhere around ten years now and does a fantastic job at her craft. She is pleasant and extremely thorough. Results are superb - best around.

Dr. Politis is knowledgeable, informed and consultative. He takes great care to communicate with patients and to make sure that youre as comfortable as possible. I jokingly say that "I give him money and he gives me pain," but the truth is that DR. POLITUS SAVED MY TEETH, p-e-r-i-o-d. Without his care and treatment, I'd be seriously considering implants or dentures.

I have had three previous periodontal surgeries by three different doctors and each instance was absolutely horrible: painful preop injections and excessive post op bleeding and pain. Needless to say I was horrified when I later discovered that I needed more surgery and vowed that I would rather lose all my teeth rather than go through more gum surgery. That is until I met Dean Politis. What a miracle man! He is absoltely meticulous in his work, takes lots of time to thorougly explain everything, amazingly painless, terrific sense of humor, a great listener, and his follow-up care and concern is that of utmost concern. I have been seeing him for 20 years now and have had five surgeries by him. He is absolutely wonderful and would recommend him without any hesitation. I wish all doctores can be like Dean.

Dr. P. is wonderful. I am very uneasy about shots, treatments, etc and he is exceptional. He is very genuinely concerned about his patients, takes time to explain everything, answers questions, all that and he'll make you smile. The day I had surgery he called my home to check and see how I was doing. I have had cleanings, gum surgery, etc and I would recommend him 1000%. I have never had a medical/dental practicioner that I trust more.

First rate all the way. All of my experiences with Doctor Politis have been fantastic and I recommend his services to anyone.

Dr. Politis is the best!!!! I Had Gum surgery performed by him and the results have been beyond my expectations.
