The issue with Dr. Alper's office is they don't return calls, listen to voice mail, and are closed many hours/days. I had discomfort following a small procedure I had done in his office which also made the area worse. I was told by the assistant that I would receive a call back, which I never received. I left additional messages, all of which were ignored. I would not go to this periodontist. Speaking from 25 years of personal experience, if you have a dental issue, go to either: Solomon/Wright (Melrose) or Melrose/Wakefield Oral Surgery. In 25 years I have had no issues of any kind with Dr. Wright - he is highly competent, or Melrose Oral Surgery - also a good practice. Nancy Nazzaro, Melrose, MA

I was referred by my dentist (Dr. Paul Torraca) to Dr. Alper for periodontal work. Not only is Dr. Joel Alper friendly and down to earth, his main concern is your comfort and well being. I felt an immediate sense of trust on my first visit. I would recommend him to anyone.

i had periodontal work done by Dr, Joel. he also does some of my routine dental work. He's good-really good. He's successful because he cares and he and his father run a tight ship. Morale in the office is very high, insurance matters are always handled correctly and professionally. Don't waste your time anywhere else-I travel down from NH because its worth it-no doubt about it.

I am continually pleasasntly surprised at the professional level of service that this office provides. Dr. Joel once called me on New Year's Day to check in to see how I was doing after some minor surgery. I've moved 45 minutes away but still make the trip because the care is so excellent. If you need a caring, professional, stress-free periodontic experience, he's the guy.
