This was a terrible experience. I was told that Dr. Shin was especially set-up to treat children . Dr. Shin gave my six year old son 2 "critically needed" pulpotomies (root canal for baby teeth). Shortly thereafter, the teeth he worked on began to cause pain. I thought , however, that the pain must be due to cutting a molar nearby. The pain increased and overnite my childs' face became swollen. I called my dentist , (who is not set up to treat small children), who was out of town and he came back into town to assist my son. What we found was that the "pulpotomies" were not done, or done so poorly that my son had acquired an infection in the treated tooth and his jaw was, within two days, completely swollen from the infection.. He was put on antibiotics, first, and then my dentist was able to clean out the infection and rectify the poor dentistry in both of the teeth that Dr. Shin had introduced infection into. I could get no subsequent help from Dr. Shins' office.

His business practices and billing is highly questionable. He has over charged me for several years (according to our Ins. Plan) & has had me coming back for things he could have repaired the first time. Sent me to an Oral Surgeon for things he could have done in his office costing me over $1,200.00 out of my own pocket. Told me in Nov. he would not bill the Insurance co. until Jan. when my ins. yr. was new, but his Office Manager, Conny forgot & billed the Ins. Then he started major work on my teeth, he has to remove 2 crowns & Redo 2 rootcanals that he did over 1.5 yrs. ago. He stated he could see that either his lab made a mistake making the crowns, he didn't place them properly, or their is a problem w/ the rootcanal he did. Knowing all of this, he gave me only 3 days of pain meds. then left on a 2 wk. vacation. The Dr. he has covering his call IS NOT even on my Ins. Plan, so I have had no pain control. He basically left me out to dry & he knew & it hasn't bothered him one bit. Sadistic if you ask me. I gave him 2 yrs. his own Dental Asst. Yolanda told me she wouldn't have come back at all, knowing what he has done to me. His Office Mgr. told me he has done this to other patients too.

Dr. Shin's office is friendly and helpfull. When my insurance company was slow to complete paperwork Dr. Shin's office was patient and worked everything out. The care that I recieved was second to none. I would recommend Dr. Shin to any of my friends and relatives.
