Read Reviews for Dr. Ira Zinner
Dr. Zinner is a technical superstar. His skill in diagnosing and carrying out corrections is of the highest caliber. He is a bit brusk in manner but that is small compared to his expertise. My previous prosthodontist drilled too deeply and ruined a tooth. Dr. Zinner is extremely cautious and takes great care in how he works. I recommend him without qualification.

diagnosis and examination with a full series of x-rays. The office was clean and neat. The office staff was very courteous. The dentist listened to my problems and wrote a detailed desciption in his chart.

This is an update of my review below: I recently wrote Dr Zinner a letter to which he replied. He attached a fee schedule that he says I received at the beginning. In my opinion, the schedule is fabricated because this is the first time I've seen it or anything like it; moreover, it contradicts my actual experience. I stand by my report below.

I went to Dr Zinner for a consultation. He advised an implant, even though two other doctors recommended a bridge because the two teeth alongside the one in question also need restoration. Because Dr Zinner has sterling credentials, I took his advice and became his prosthedontics patient. Well, his office refused to give me a realistic figure of the costs upfront. Now I have paid him $7000, yet he wants an additional $5000. When I told him I couldn't pay any more he not only refused to finish the work but wouldn't even discuss fees with me--he simply walked out of the room. I haven't heard from him since. Another very reputable dentist who knows him has told me that the work--either the implant prosthesis or the bridge--should've cost $5000 TOTAL. Now I have a temporary crown over the implant,
work to be done on the two adjacent teeth (a filling has come loose in one) and no more money (having paid the implant surgeon $4000). Dr Zinner has a gruff personality, was rude not only to me but to his staff, has an office that looks like the 60s (no computers) and a secretary--Ann Marie--who is dishonest about the charges. Don't go to him unless you can afford $15,000+ for one tooth!
