I have been to some excellent dentists in my life, but absolutely none compare to Dr. Thoms. She is not only genuinely compassionate and caring, gentle and always understanding, but she is also outstanding in her attention to every detail and making absolutely sure that every procedure and outcome are perfect.
When I cracked a front tooth that needed a crown, the crown she had made for me was such a perfect match that the oral surgeon she referred me to a few years later could not tell it was a crown! When I broke a tooth last year on a Friday afternoon, I was immediately given her cell phone number to call. She dashed into the office to meet me, extracted the tooth, and made sure I was connected with an excellent oral surgeon who would install the post a few weeks later to make ready for the following implant. Step by step, she has made sure that I have been well cared for and pain-free. From the massage chair (yes, massage) to the beautiful view across Lake Washington, every aspect of her office is designed to be a relaxing pleasant experience.
I can not recommend her highly enough. On a scale of one to ten, with ten being absolute perfection, she'd be at least a twelve!
About Hygienist: Dr. Thoms' hygienist is superb. She is gentle and thorough, and I don't leave with my gums sore or bleeding as has happened on occasion with other hygienists. She is always pleasant and makes the time fly by quickly.

Dr. Thoms is excellent at what she does and she has an efficient staff. Cost is a tad high but she's an artist with the crowns, temporaries and finished products. If looking good, as well as having functional teeth, is important to you I'd recommend her.
She really cares about her work and her patients and it shows!
Only complaint is the wait to see her. She's booked a LONG time in advance without a lot of wiggle room.

I have been extremely satisfied with my experience with Dr. Thoms. She referred me to a different specialist for an implant, but then finished off with the tooth over the implant. It fits right in with my other teeth- you'd never know that it wasn't my natural tooth. Dr. Thoms listens to concerns and discusses options, her staff is friendly and inviting. Her hygienist is the only one I have gone to who hasn't made my mouth hurt! I have sent a number of people to her and all have had great experiences too. If you don't like going to the dentist, try Dr. Thoms... she will change your mind.

I will not argue the fact that Dr. Thoms is no doubt an excellent dentist. I will say though that if you are too difficult a case -- i.e. a difficult TMD case --that she will eventually admit to you that she knows little about the disorder. Her bedside manner varies from warm and fuzzy to godzilla-like. I find her quite willing to pass the responsibility to the patient for any errors she makes. On the plus side her assistant is a wonderful human being.

I used to dread visiting the dentist and this negatively impacted my dental health. I was referred to Lisa by a friend and went through a massive set of "catch-up" proceedures and found the experience to be a lot less unpleasant than I had imagined. I have been returning regularly since then (10 years) and my dental health is excellent. I can't say I love going to the dentist, but I do love the people at Lisa's office ... Lisa is 100% professional so there's no worries and I seem to spend a lot of time joking and laughing with the staff. The office view is very cool ... looking down Lake Washinton from atop a bluff in Kenmore. It's worth the drive from downtown Seattle.

I have been seeing Dr. Thoms for about 8 years. I have received many crowns from Dr. Thoms, both new and replacements. The office staff is as great as she is and Lisas work is excellent.
I have recommended Dr. Thoms to my family and friends. If Dr. Thoms office continued to take my insurance I would still be a patient.

Dr. Thoms has been my Dentist for at least seven years now. I even moved to Gig Harbor from Kirkland three years ago and continue to travel to Kenmore for my dentist and staff. They make you feel welcome and appreciated. Plus they are gentle and efficient! I highly reccomend Lisa and her staff.

Dr. Thoms is the best Prothodontist in Seattle.
She is the only one I'd go to for specialy services and even general dentistry. I've been a patient of hers for over 10 years! I wouldn't think of seeing anyone else.
Her office has seperate rooms, and look out on a very beautiful view of Lake Washington, very relaxing -- but NOT at all pretentious. You're paying for her expertise, not for glitz, or any other gimmicks.
She gives absolutely painless needles. She also gives you a unique head rest if you have any neck issues, you'll love it! Also, she is amazing for people with TMJ problems.
When it comes to getting any serious dentistry done, I highly advise you see a specialist first to evaluate your needs. They're like the conductor of the whole symphony of your mouth! You won't get fake looking chicklet teeth from Dr. Thoms, they'll look natural, and beautiful, whatever she has to do for you, I wouldn't trust anyone else!
