I've been Dr. B's patient for about 5 years now and had originally visited him because of periodontal issues. His name came up a number of times when I asked around (pre Yelp days!). I've had cavities filled, a gold inlay completed, and deep cleaning - all of which have gone well.
I've also called him on a dental emergency and he was able to come in that same day even though it was Sunday. He didn't even charge me extra for that! Beyond skills, the best part about these visits is how much information Dr. B provides. He is very thorough in his explanations of treatment options and it is clear that he keeps his knowledge up to date. He clearly loves what he does!
I do wish that he is available on the weekends and that he is in my dental network. I guest you'd have to be a pretty darn good doctor to do well without these network referrals!
Check him out - I think you'll be really happy with the results.

I trust his opinion and highly respect his integrity. He is anal retentive about teeth, which I really want in a dentist! He is also super with my kids (being a big kid himself).

I've been seeing Dr B for many years. Very personable, conservative approach. Great staff - even when a new hygenist was added, it was amazing to see her change from our first cleaning (she was not personable, or gentle, or encouraging) to more genuine, open, and encouraging but firm in subsequent visits. He expects and gets that kind of response/change from his staff. We've recommended him to our friends without hesitation.

When someone tells you "yes we accept delta dental" what do you think? you think ok im fully covered. not at this office. they deal with ins everyday and know what coming out of pocket and what is covered.when i thought i was covered fully i wasnt. they never told me nor did i ask if they were a delta dental dentist. but the point of the matter is that they knew that the 1600 hundred dollar bill was coming out of my pocket and knew delta was only covering so much. instead to doing the right thing by saying "hey this much will be out of your pocket" they skipped telling my that and just sat me in the chair. they would have lost a patient yea but would have had my respect and recomendation to my friends and family but instead they have me writting this review. so in closing ask all these questions first because they will not be courteous and let you know what comes out of your pocket. in my opinion thats not how you keep patients by keeping them in the dark. they have alreay lost 4 patients because of this i hope they loose more.

Best dentist I've ever been to. Enjoys his work. Stays current with recent developments. Versed in nutrition and many other subjects. Naturally inquisitive and seeks deeper understanding of how things work. Understands instantly. Interested in and cares for his patients. Explains things clearly and in depth--on a regular basis. Excellent communicator. Dr. Burhenne and his staff are very sensitive in their techniques and treatment. I don't associate pain withgoing to the dentist anymore. And I never get the feeling of anybody being rushed.
Dr. Burhenne has a great eye. His photographic work hangs on the walls .
His staff (hygienests, front desk) are all nice, friendly, and professional. They seem to enjoy their work and create a good environment. That is very important in how I assess practice or business.
I don't know how his prices compare with others. But it doesn't matter. I wouldn't consider another dentist.

As of 2006, I have been a patient of Dr. Burhenne's for nearly 17 years. My only complaint is his office's overall lack of acceptance of most insurance plan coverage. But he has always allowed me a payment plan, and heck, the man must be a great dentist if I've been paying cash and driving an hour to see him for the last 10 years!

I have been a patient for many years and have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Burhenne as a dentist. He is courteous, friendly and very thorough. The office staff has changed so many times, I've lost count, however, and the waiting room is cramped. Luckily the wait is rarely long. It does worry me that my favorite hygienist is no longer there since I mostly go in for cleanings, and not much more. He seems to have an issue with keeping staff. The current office manager is very organized and helpful with insurance claims.

Excellent staff and Dr. Burhenne is very relaxing! He is genuinely interested in your life and health and doesn't shame you if your not so good at coming back on time!! ((=
