I got to see Dr. Yellich a few months after my mountain biking incident. I had done a faceplant on the handlebars, knocking out three front teeth from the upper jaw, and fracturing the anterior alveolar ridge (with significant bone loss). The amount of bone loss was severe enough to preclude implant placement.
I had prior consultations with other maxillofacial surgeons, and was told that a bone graft was impossible, and that bone distraction would only have a 70% chance of success (at an out -of-pocket cost of at least $15k).
Dr. Yellich felt confident a bone graft could be done. Over a 10-month period, I went through a bone graft surgery, a tissue graft surgery, and implant surgery. The end result was amazing and surpassed my expectations. Some surgery pictures here: http://insurancehell.com/archives/cat_photo.html
