I've had a few root canals. The most recent of which was by Dr. Heggen, which went way better than the others.
Pros: super nice office staff; the doc and his assistants are friendly and explain things thoroughly; he makes sure you're completely numb before the procedure; the dental dam and sunglasses keep tooth dust out of your eyes and airway. A bunch of other comfort measures are taken. The doc is efficient yet precise. He's knowledgeable and experienced.
Cons: it's a root canal. it's gonna suck no matter what.
But it sucks a lot less here than the other places. I fully recommend this place for all your endodontic needs.

Dr heggen removed 4 roots from 4 different healthy teeth, was having "tooth sensitivity" . New dentists put me in a mouth guard - oh! no more tooth sensitivity! I was too dumb to know better. consumer beware! Now am living with crowns that are turning black. its a money thing - he gets paid by the root canal.

A true professional who is a perfectionist and seems very focused on the quality of his work.
Great staff also.
For root canal work, I would recommend him!

Dr Heggen was excellent. Completed the procedure in 30 min or less - a lot faster than expected. The office interior could undergo a makeover but he is an excellent dentist.

I had to do a double root canal. I was referred to Dr. Heggen by my dentist. He did an excellent job. His staff were all very pleasant and competent. I tried to get Dr. Heggen to laugh a little but was unsuccessful. He is a kind of dry and serious guy but he is very knowledgeable and is willing to answer any questions. I wouldn't hesitate to see him again if I needed to or to send anyone I know to see him.

They fit me in with a cracked tooth.
Will only go to him for root canals if needed again.
EXCELLENT with novacaine injections.
Had laughing gas. Have to be careful to know when you are getting too much though. I had to tell to decrease amount a few times due to passing out from too much and almost having a seizure.
What takes so long is waiting on the doc, but hey he is a busy man.
Feel very confident with Dr. Heggen working on my teeth!
Office personell very efficient as well.

Dr. Heggen is an amazing endodontist. He is extremely skilled and very good with pain management. I'm a huge chicken when it comes to going to the dentist, but his staff put me at ease. They were very aware of my anxieties and did everything they could to aleviate them. I've had 2 root canals at Dr. Heggen's office and had absolutely no complications. I would recommend him to anyone (and have recommended him to several people).
