This use to be a good practice but something changed. Also they referred me to an oral surgeon riverstone, had a bad experience there too. Not going back.

The experience at New Albany Family Dentistry was unbelievably frustrating and a nightmare of repeat visits. The staff (one of whom is his wife) mirrors their boss. He is incredibly arrogant, condescending, unprofessional, and, at least in my case, grossly incompetent. Watch out: Billing your insurance for anything and everything, whether it's legitimate or not, appears to be one of his stocks in trade. If you need to return because the original work wasn't done properly the first time, it is likely he'll still bill your insurance again and try to make you pay another co-pay on top of it. A shocking lack of integrity that he clearly has rationalized in his own mind.
I should have known better than to go to this guy. Why, you ask? Well, for one, the veneers on his own teeth are ridiculously obvious, resembling giant Chiclets bolted into his mouth. I was tempted to feed him oats and hay, his mouth looks like a horse that ate 10 gallons of Wite-Out. If he can't even get his own teeth cosmetically pleasing, and is completely oblivious to his own appearance, then why did I think he would treat his patients any differently. Arrogance combined with ineptitude is a lethal combination for any doctor.

I went to this dentist for a cleaning and check up. He told me I needed to remove an old filling and get a new one and that tooth needed a crown. I had no pain in that tooth but believing what he told me, went ahead with the treatment. On the treatment day he not only filled that tooth but also filled a cavity in the tooth next to it without telling me or discussing that with me. To cut a long story short &10 visits back and forth trying to relieve my intense pain on both my teeth, I had to get a root canal done on one. The second one, Is still painful due to a bad deep filling touching my tooth nerve- and will perhaps need a root canal too!!!!! He told me the tooth could have fractured. My endodontist was surprise that he did such a large filling on the next tooth and my new dentist is amazed at the horrible job he has done with the filling which is resulting in this pain. That tooth did not even have a problem. He should not be practicing dentistry!!!! He is arrogant & incompetent . I have never had a worse experience than this in my life! I have lost 2 of my good teeth and have no insurance money left this year to correct what he has damaged!

Veneer and crown. This denist is not competent technically. In addition, he is not a honest doctor. 1) When he did veneer on my front tooth to cover a very tiny dent, he grinded half of my front tooth out. After I switched to my current dentist, I did other veneer as well. My current dentisit did not grind much tooth out at all. So I realized Dr. Tim Backiewicz is a very bad dentist. 2)
When I broke one molar tooth, he just did a crown for me without telling me any other options, such as implant. With the crown, two other adjacent teeth were damaged as well. 3) Also he did not do my crown correctly. Although he provided 5 year warranty, he refused to redo the crown for me after two other dentists told me that the crown was not done correctly due to the existence of the gap shown on their x-ray. But he told me those two other dentists did not tell me the truth and his X-ray did not show any gap. So I paid by myself to get my crown redone at another dentist office. So stay away from this dentist. It is scary to have a dentist who is incompetent and dishonest. He can do anything to your teeth.

Disappointed in partner's experience and advice/care. Dr. Backiewicz ponds work off to assistant, rushes through patients, no chairside manner.

Though I have left his office several years already, I like to leave this review to let other patients know.
His cost is ok. Not very expensive. He is good at pain control. But his dental skills in general are not very good. He once did dental veneers on my front teeth for a very small notch. But he grinded half of my tooth away. Also the veneer dropped the next day. Later I did dental veneer at another office, that dentist did not grind much of the tooth at all. So I realized Dr. Backiewicz unecessarily damaged my tooth.
Also he is NOT a HONEST dentist. I do not want to give details on the terrible incident. Otherwise, he would recognize me easily.
