After several years of seeing Dr. Pyke, we were put "on notice" due to 3 cancelled appointments. Despite providing adequate notice of cancellation, we received a letter stating that we had to remit a $20 cancellation fee and that one more missed appointment would result in being removed from the practice. Apparently, Dr. Pyke believes his time is more important than that of his patient's and that ill children are no excuse for cancellation. So, if you're planning to use this doctor's services, be sure your child is impermeable to illness and that you will never have cause to cancel an appointment. Better yet, take your ill child to the office and have him vomit everywhere possible!! A very disappointing experience to say the least.
About Front Desk: The office staff is miserable in every instance. Consistently unpleasant.

He is a wonderful kids dentist. The business side is horrendous. We've been with them for 5 years, with one special needs child and one who is terrified of dentists. We lost/forgot one bill and now they refuse to treat them without full cash payment up front. They refuse to submit claim forms, even though we are with Delta Dental (which specifies that the dentist will submit claims). We would like to change, but it's difficult to leave such a great dentist who does a great job with my kids. Really tough situation - just wanted to warn everyone about the financial thing!

I think Dr. Pyke is a very caring dentist. He is totally dedicated to my three boys and the care of their mouths. He is thorough and professional, but very fun for my boys! He gives wiggly noodle handshakes, squeezes thier noses and sings the Sponge Bob theme song! I have seen him in action with other patients as well and his stand of care in excellent.
Not to be forgotten, Dr. Pyke's hygenists are top notch. They are very gentle and sweet and always take their time to make my children feel comfortable! My two year old and five year old argue over who gets to go first for each visit!
They have children's movies playing in their waiting room, and 2 giant play cubes to keep little ones occupied. Front desk is just fine, and they schedule your next visit while you're there.
I highly recommend Dr. Pyke! If I could use him as my dentist, I'd do so in a heartbeat, but he has told me before that if he starts taking adults, the adults would be taking away from his favorite patients: the children.

Dr. Pyke is great with the children. Also, the staff takes time to answer your questions. The drawback is the ability to get a quick appointment if you find you have to reschedule. Watch it if you are a little late as well they are strict about you being on time. However, you will have to usually wait a while for your turn. All in all I happy with Dr. Pyke and this office. Just plan ahead and try to keep your original appointment.
