My children have gone to Dr. Stetler for 3 years. As a dentist he is wonderful. We have had no issues at all with his care. When it came time for wisdom teeth extraction I was asked to fork over nearly $900 up front just to schedule to appt. We have 2 dental policies. When I asked if they had verified benefits I was told yes and that IV sedation was not covered. When I called to verify benefits myself to see why the cost was so high I was told IV sedation IS covered at 80% by BOTH policies. The office decreased my bill by $300, but was still asking for way too much up front and told me it was a courtesy that they even file insurance. They got defensive when I broke down the actual cost and presented it them exactly what I should owe. We will not be returning to the office due to their billing practices.
