Dr. Berkowitz has a small dental office in NW Washington DC near Chevy Chase Circle. I have been seeing him for 9 years. I have never needed anything other than routine cleaning and x-rays so I can only speak to that. He does the cleaning as well as the exam himself, and he is very thorough. For a patient like me who does not have many dental issues, he is fine. He is not super gentle but he isn't rough either. He usually has "soft rock" music playing in the office during the cleaning procedure; sometimes I have found it too loud and have asked him to turn it down. He always used to send me 6 month check-up reminders, but last time he didn't, and I accidentally went over a year and a half without a checkup. When I asked about it, he said he doesn't "always" send them, for which I am marking him down on customer service (before that time it was always good.) Chair-side manner is adequate.
