Read Reviews for Dr. Tom Houston
I went in with a severe gum disease, broken tooth, abcess, severe pain and dry socket. They took x-rays and told me that I did in fact have a severe infection. They would not pull the tooth and referred me to an oral surgeon. What really got me upset was 2 things: 1. They refused oral antibiotic treatment for me - said that I'd have to get that from the dentist they referred me to (and so far, that guy is not answering his phone) 2. Lastly, they told me that since I was on medicare and had limited income - that I should consider going to some place like Baylor dental school. Now, I pay extra to have supplemental dental insurance and it's ridiculous that these dentists are taking advantage of the medicare patients and charging extreme fees. I'm going to go back to my old dentist and pay less for the procedure with using NO insurance at all than what these so-called dentists are charging people that pay out the wazoo for their medicare supplemental insurance.

I had serious dental problems with a lot of bone loss. Dr Houston and his staff were wonderful. They refered me to an oral surgeon who removed all of my teeth. After my gums healed I returned to Dr Houston and was fitted for my dentures. Since I had chosen not to get the immediate dentures it normally takes a while to get the dentures back. But they rushed every process through the lab and now I have a wonderful smile.

I went to this dentist after seeing some positive reviews. The only negative review had to do with transferring x-rays. I was told I needed to make an initial consultation for the first cleaning and x-rays. I did get the x-rays taken care of but the hygienist was out of the office so they told me I had to reschedule for the cleaning and whatever work i was going to receive. Rescheduled and the dentist was out that day so received the cleaning but had to reschedule the crown and filling. Finally got that and everything seems ok to this point but the crown does feel a little fat. Basically my review is this, I am not sure if it was the most expensive place but for ONE cleaning and ONE crown it was 1200 dollars. I was almost double charged because the front desk person would not listen that they made me pay up front. The total amount of trips for ONE cleaning,ONE crown and a small filling was 4. The place is not very clean as you will see when they put you in the chair and you start staring at the ceiling. They will try to upsale you on your visit. With insurance, they still wanted 150 for a "level 2" cleaning and was trying to get me to go with the "level 3" for 250.
About Hygienist: Don't remember her name but she was the nicest one I have dealt with in a long time, and I have been to the dentist 33 or more times. She did an average job but to me personality helps a lot.
