When my regular dentist referred me to Dr O'Callahan to get an opinion on a tooth with a loose filling, she told me that I had only two options, get a root canal or get my tooth extracted. So I chose the root canal. The procedure was painful and my recovery was complicated. I wanted to second opinion so I went to another dentist and showed him my x-rays and told him what happened. He said that if I was in no pain and my pulp/nerve had no sign of inflammation, I should have gotten a pulp cap with a filling on top and saved my tooth. I would have also saved almost $3,000. I would give Dr O'Callahan a 0/5 if I could for not being honest about my treatment alternatives and failing to provide me with full informed consent, which is unethical in any healthcare practice.

I had a root canal performed while I was visiting UC Berkeley on a speaking assignment. I had an emergency toothache and was referred by the University to a general dentist nearby. I had already had a root canal performed back home but the dentist told me that it was not good and it needed to be done again. He referred me to Dr.O'Callaghan and I simply cannot praise her enough. The quality was amazing and when she knew that I was only in town for to months she called the general doctor and helped me to get the appointment for the crown quickly. I was pain free very quickly and my swelling went away fast.
About Front Desk: I think they helped to co-ordinate billing with UCB very efficiently. I was not responsible for payment but they filled out paperwor for me and made calls on my behalf.

My daughter recommended Priya O'Callaghan and I must thank her for doing an excellent job of a root canal. Now I am back in Massachusetts and am trying to get the cap for the tooth and to find a good and competent dentist to do it. what a magilla!!!! Wish I had her advice or was still in Berkeley.

I have had two procedures performed by Dr. O'Callaghan. I barely have time to get things done in my day but I am taking the time to write a review because I have a severe dental phobia and I cant recommend this dentist enough. She started by explaining everything thoroughly and then drew pictures to help me truly understand. She took the time to listen to my concerns and gave the MOST painless injections I have ever had. Usually I request nitrous oxide in the middle of a procedure, but I did not have the need with Dr. O'Callaghan. Office has amazing views and staff were friendly. She is not cheap, but I wasnt looking for that. I was looking for quality work and I got it!

I suffered unbelievable pain all week. She fit me into her schedule at five. i was nervous to say the least and Dr. O'Callaghan and her staff were wonderful. I'm a little sore, but since my pain was a 10 and now its a 1 after a day, I'm thrilled.

Efficient. Frienurns our I didn't need the root canal, so I love her even more for her honesty!

Service was kind and efficient, treatment was effective and painless, cost looked like the standard cost for a root canal.

I am a student at Cal. Had a bad car accident. my general dentist said that the case was too complex as my front teeth were so crowded. I was bruised and in pain when I saw Dr. O'Callaghan and she was so wonderful. I am still working on getting my smile back, but I am done with my root canal work and am pain free. The cost for saving my teeth was worth every penny to me.THE BEST!!
