I have had several dental cleanings, a root canal, and two small cavities filled. He took careful xrays and photos, was meticulous about pain control, and his root canal has held up well so far (after 1.5 years). The cost was fairly average. He is very friendly, and his staff is even friendlier. He seems to use very up-to-date technology, and the chairs are quite comfortable. He even managed to fit in unscheduled work one time.
One potential fault is that he definitely orders more imaging studies than the average dentist, which does increase the cost (and increase his chance of finding tiny cavities). Also, although he has excellent English, we did once have a misunderstanding that I think stemmed from the fact that English is his second language.
I have never had any insurance problems, so I can't evaluate how helpful they would be there.
I would recommend him to others for his careful work and friendly presence, though he is probably not the best choice for someone whose top goal is finding a bargain.
About Hygienist: I don't know her name, but she was excellent--friendly, gentle, and left my teeth feeling clean.
