Read Reviews for Dr. Gerald Geernaert
OVERALL: Our family dentist in a close-by city retired after 20 years. We decided to find another (in our area). Unfortunately, we were not able to get referrals & relied on our insurance providers list. In the beginning, Dr. Geernaert was painless and seemed very capable.
COST: Billing has also seemed to have gone up dramatically in the last year.
FACILITIES: Decent, clean, but as expected in an older practice.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: The doctor and staff are all very courteous and friendly.
STRESS & ANXIETY: The only stress/anxiety is now long after treatment and discovery of what was/was not done properly.
TREATMENT SUCCESS: With time, our confidence has eroded & treatments have become painful. In-chair, he talks to support staff in DDS lingo (w/o clarification) & seems to always be "watching" more potential issue areas than actually addressing them before they become problems. This was confirmed recently when a family member had an emergency and had to use another dentist. Whereupon, we learned that several cavities had been overlooked or ignored for a long time. Further, when crowns or fillings had been installed, "bite" had not been as carefully seated as should have been, resulting is excessive wear in several areas.

It took 4 visits to get first veneer in satisfactorily. First veneer broke off after 6 months. Replacement veneer, for which I was charged, broke off after 1 week.
