Read Reviews for Dr. James Mclaughlin
Dr. Mclaughlin replaced an entire front crown with post. Although his staff was very freindly and professional and the facility was nice, Dr. Mclaughlin was cold and unfriendly during treatment.
After the crown was replaced, I inquired as to the color, which was off, and the band of black cement which was visible at the top. I was told (quite rudely) that it was fine and that it would go away. I was deployed for 6 months afterwards and was stuck with this crown.
After I returned, I went to a new dentist in 2005, who examined the crown and stated that the work was done very badly, and that it was not normal to see the cement or discoloration. She recommended I replace the crown in a year.
I am scheduled to replace the crown this week. This is fortunate because this morning, my front crown suddenly fell out; this is a little over 2 years since I had it put in by Dr. McLaughlin. When I contacted the office, I was told that this is normal and that I would have to file a complaint through my insurance company since more than 6 months had passed.
According to my dentist and a second dentists I consulted with, crowns should match the teeth closely, should never show the black cement line, and should be good for 5-15 yrs.
I know this doctor: 2 months
