Read Reviews for Dr. Michael D. Kowitz
Highly questionable practices: I was told i have 3rd stage of periodontal disease (which puzzled me because I dont have receded gums and shaking teeth) and prescribed laser curettage for gum problems. Later I learned that the super expensive laser procedures are no better alternative to the traditional "scaling and root planing" and even "could render root surfaces and adjacent alveolar bone incompatible with normal cell attachment and healing" (according to the American Academy of Periodontology). When I shared my concerns with him and postponed the procedures, the good doctor send me a letter that he is dropping me as a patient and I should find a new dentist.
The new dentist didnt seem concerned at all with my gums and when inquired, told me I have at best early stage of gingivitis and should pay attention flossing and brushing. He also had to replace a filling put by Dr. Kowitz, which fell in 6mo (and even if the new dentist doubted he can save the tooth w/o root canal, his filling stays on for four years now). For me this is questionable quality of dental work.
Other than that., doctors staff is crafty, the office is well equipped - including the super-expensive laser apparatus (which they had to pay off)
