Read Reviews for Dr. Tim Tischler
This has been my family's dentist for around 20 years, and he's been top notch all around. My mother had a permanent partial put in over 20 years ago and she has had no problems with it at all. I've had fillings and an emergency root canal done, and all of the procedures have been totally pain free and successful. I had a severe pain problem that resulted in a root canal, and they worked me in on the same day that I called for the beginning of the procedure (the part that kills the pain). The staff knows the patients by name, and the waiting times are minimal. Everyone is very accommodating and willing to explain anything; from billing to the procedure that is going on in your mouth right this second.
I guess if I need to criticize one thing, their waiting room chairs are a little uncomfortable. But if you're only in them for a couple minutes, who cares?

Oh my gosh... When I first saw Dr. Tischler, my favorite tv shows from the 70's or early 80s were Joanie Loves Chachi, Eight is Enough or Three's Company... that is at least according to the questionnaire that I filled out when I first saw him. With job insurances, I've used other dentists, but I'd rather pay a bit more by going outside the plan to see Dr. Tischler for major stuff. He once saw me as an emergency during his lunch for a tiny chipped tooth. It turned out to be very minor where he just smoothed it out, and he didn't charge me for it. He never recommended anything that wasn't necessary. His wife keeps the office together and is so kind and professional. She treats my mom like she's her family. I would highly recommend Dr. Ticheler for any of your needs.
About Hygienist: I used Nancy for years. She's now with Dr. McDowell. She is so sweet, dedicated, and professional. I always feel that I disappointed her in flossing, but she never made me feel bad, just maybe a bit guilty. She was very good though. It was actually kind of a bit relaxing and never uncomforable in any way.

My husband bit down hard on a nectarine pit and chipped his tooth very badly. Dr.Tischler was able to get him into the office on very short notice and fix his tooth to perfection. Dr. Tischler has been the family dentist for years. His compentency, calming demeanor and success in treatments keep us going back--even though we live 25 miles away! His staff is courteous and professional. It can be difficult booking an appointment at times, but we are willing to wait for his services. We highly recommend Dr. Tischler to anyone in the Austin area.
