I met Dr. Chao while I was giving my daughter moral support during upper teeth extraction and subsequently an upper plate. Dr. Chao was very patient and was not satisfied until everything was perfect. My daughter was very happy.
My second experience with Dr. Chao was accompanying my 91-year-old husband for evaluation and subsequent tooth extraction and two fillings. My husband was extremely satisfied with his treatment.
After witnessing those two positive experiences, I decided to change dentists and made an appointment. I was extremely happy with Dr. Chao and his staff. I had an extraction, and he referred me to a periodontist, since I had infection under several teeth. I am so happy I went to Dr. Chao and am having problems addressed. My old dentist seemed to ignore the infections and just kept prescribing antibiotics instead of addressing the root of the problem (no pun intended).
I think Dr. Chao is probably average in his charges for work done. He accepts most insurance plans. I did not have dental insurance, so his receptionist recommended dentalplans.com (It's a discount plan, not insurance--I'm not sure of the difference). I called and signed up and for slightly over $100 per year, I'm saving quite a bit.

Dr. Chao and his staff have been my dentist since 2007. I've had my cleanings done there and had a cavity filled there as well. I've always been happy with the level of service I received, although the office can be a little busy at times. Dr. Chao is friendly as are the people working in his office.
About Hygienist: I've always had the same hygienist (can't recall her name) and she does a great job. Friendly, efficient and helpful.

Dr. Chao & staff understand phobias & are kind and painless. They did everything to remove my fears from empathy to gas & reassured me the whole time. 2 1/2 hrs felt like 15 min. He understood when I told him of my fears. If you don't tell the dentist, he can't help you. Technicians are kind and excellent.

My whole family goes to Dr. Chao. We all like him - parents and kids. He took the time to remove my daughter's bands from her braces when he cleaned her teeth. She wasn't too happy, but I was.

Dr. Chao is acceptable, but the customer service in his office is atrocious--not patient oriented.

He is an excellent dentist. He does wonderful work. He explains everything before he does it. He made me feel really comfortable. I didn't feel any pain or discomfort. He and his staff are very professional. The prices were very reasonable. I recommend him to everyone I know.

Terrible bedside manner. Does not know how to deal with nervous or scared children, instead he yells at the child. Office staff is incompetent when dealing with appointments and insurance issues.
