First, I have never had dental insurance & the only reason why is because I trust Dr Sawatzky. He is EXTREMELY honest. He always tells me the condition of my teeth, his recommendations & my choices as far as cost. He tells me what to expect in the next 2-10 years & patientenly explains what I can do for dental health. My examinations have always been thourough & other dentists in the area agree that even though he's old skool he's a perfectionist & does great work. Since I pay cash & have known him for over 20 years I get a discount. He runs a lean operation but he passes the savings on to his patients. If you want lasers & plasma screens & computers - go pay a dentist who likes driving new luxury cars. Dr Sawatzky is about as good as you can get. He's been in Willits since the early 70's (my dad & mom go to him too) and is a good member of the community. I think Dr Sawatzky is the best value in dentistry in Mendo & Sonoma county.
About Hygienist: He doesn't have a hygenist - when was the last time your dentist cleaned your teeth?

After my first visit I felt that he was thorough, but I wonder if he is to "thorough" because he found three cavities no other dentist had seen before recently. His office is small and almost too quiet and he has an nice manner, but it almost seemed too quiet in there. I wonder if anyone else ever goe to him...
