This particular dental office is set up such that Dr. Hopkins does the initial exam, assesses the work, and passes you off on to other less qualified dentists. First exam with Dr. Hopkins was pleasant, however all the care I received after that was horrific. I just received a letter in the mail noting she has sold the practice and is no longer providing her services on a full-time basis, so she isnt even associated with the practice anymore.
Dental Work:
I had a root canal and crown down here. The crown surface has no grooves resembling real teeth used to chew food and will need to have the work re-done by another dentist who I have since been seeing with a much better result. The root canal hurt like hell and the whole time I had to listen to the dentist tell me about how great his work was. He sucked.
Billing:
Does this lady speak English? All I know is I called twice to request a copy of my bill to which I got an irate Armenian lady screaming at me like she was back in the old country yelling about how I would be assessed a $25 fee for not showing up to an appointment after I received a written letter in the mail stating Dr. Hopkins would not be practicing dental work at that location any more. Overpriced and bitchy.
About Hygienist: I was charged $500 for a deep cleaning, done in 4 visits, with 12 Novocain shots. The hygienist, although a cheery woman, was just awful. The needle wounds inside my mouth lasted at least a week and my whole mouth was tender for about a week a half. After speaking to another family member, they received a much less painful procedure for half the price and better quality work. DO NOT GET YOUR TEETH CLEANED HERE. HURTS LIKE HELL!!!!!!! The office looks great, but dont be fooled, thats only to make you feel safe. The dental work sucks. All amatures, all overpriced.

I just saw Dr. Jacklyn who is a partner of Dr Hopkins and I was so impressed. The office is immaculate and the staff is so friendly. You can even have a massage before you have your visit. I am always impressed with the office, but I am not the easiest dental patient and Dr Jacklyn was so gentle and friendly it made me feel really comfortable. I had to have some shots for a cavity and I didn't even feel her put them in. She is an amazing doctor.
I am never leaving this office, they're the best I've seen in 15 years!

I've been in LA 17 years and in that time have seen 6 different dentists. I was never happy with any of them until I came to Dr. Hopkins. She's amazing! The office is immaculately clean and all the equipment seems up to date and well taken care of. There is not a speck of dust anywhere, and the ambience is very relaxing as well. The free massage is a double bonus. But that is just the outward appearance - it's the work that counts, right? Well, I also have only wonderful things to say on that front. The staff was professional and courteous, and when I came to have my wisdom tooth out, they were understanding of my fears. Turns out, those fears were completely unfounded - I was in and out of the dentist chair in less than 20 minutes, and the extraction itself only took about 5 minutes! I didn't feel a thing, not even the shots - Dr. Hopkins is amazing! Also, she wadded up some gauze and told me to bite down on it for a half hour and then throw it away, and that I wouldn't need any additional gauze. In the past, I've gone through so much gauze because of so much bleeding, I just couldn't believe that after 30 minutes, there was no more bleeded. I am completely satisfied and have already recommended her to two peopl.

I very much appreciate Dr. Hopkins willingness to explain the need for and the benefit of suggested procedures. Everyone I've encountered at this office is professional and efficient. I am very pleased with the quality of care and will happily recommend her.

Dr. Hopkins is one of the best dentists I have had the pleasure of visiting as a patient. Both my husband and I were her patients for nearly 4 years, and we certainly would have stayed with her had we not relocated to Chicago. Her dental office/facilities are all geared towards comfort and easing a patient's worries prior to treatment. The receptionist desk is efficient and friendly. She expresses care and concern, explains treatment options thoroughly, and performs high-quality work. She replaced a crown (with no side issues and fit me in as a "last minute" appointment) and did my regular cleaning. She also "soothed" my husband's nerves (he is not a fan of the dentist at all, and it was challenging to get him to attend regular appointments until Dr. Hopkins!) I would recommend Dr. Hopkins to anyone looking for an experienced, professional, and pleasant dentist!

Dr. Hopkins is a great dentist. She did an excellent job in doing a root canal treatment and putting in a porcelain crown on my front teeth. I am very satisfied and happy with the results.
I highly recommend her. She makes you feel comfortable . She's very pleasant , gentle caring , and knowledgeable.
The office is very clean , absolutely beautiful with a great view.
The staff are friendly and nice.

Dr. Marilyn Hopkins is one of the best dentists I have ever seen in my life. She is professional, patient, compassionate, knowledgeable, gentle, and personable. She will be my dentist as long as she practices dentistry.

PRO: Good looking office, free massage, and staff is quite friendly. Insurance claims were hassle free.
CON: Not a very "personal" office. There were multiple doctors and other staffs who cleans your teeth. Each time I go there, I have no idea who will be working on my teeth, and I haven't even met Dr. Hopkins.
I've visited the office 3 times including cleaning and fillings. Everyone who's worked on my teeth seemed very impatient and not very skillful. I've always had the feeling that they just want to finish the job quick a get on to the next patient.
