Highly recommended. Dr. Swimmer regularly sees both my wife and I. We moved out of the immediate area to San Francisco, and still drive back to Lafayette for his services, as it can be so difficult to find the level of quality he provides. He is professional, kind and extremely knowledgeable, and we have been able to speak with him directly on weekends during emergencies. The quality of care we receive is superb.
About Hygienist: The different hygienists we have worked with at Dr. Swimmer's office have all been friendly, professional and highly competent.

Dr. Swimmer apparently doesn't believe in TMJ. When my wife experienced chronic facial pain, he told her to take some NSAIDs and was not helpful or sympathetic. When she sought a second opinion, he told us we should find a new dentist since we had "lost confidence" in his practice.

I am a former patient of Dr. Swimmer. He was one of several dentists who apparently contributed to my mercury poisoning by placing mercury-amalgam fillings in my teeth.
In 2004 I left Dr. Swimmer's care after he declined to stop using mercury in his practice. I had all my mercury fillings removed by another dentist and replaced with composite fillings at great financial cost. Since then my mercury test level has dropped greatly and I have had perfect dental health as well as sigificant improvement in my general health.
