My family has had two unsatisfactory encounters with Dr. Demarta. On one occassion she did not show up to do an oral exam following a hygienist's appointment. My husband was told that she would look at his X-rays instead. Looking at X-rays in absence of a patient is no substitute for a thorough oral exam. Besides, no one called my husband to tell him the results of that "looking at his X-rays" or to try to reschedule. I know this was no fault of the staff because we had been going to the same facility (former Dr. Turner's office on Welch Road in Palo Alto, where Dr. Demarta is practicing now) for years, and this has never happened.
On another occasion a family member had an emergency, and Dr. Demarta agreed to see the patient the same day. She spent 5 minutes with her, said that the evaluation covered only one tooth, that the patient had problems with her other teeth but Dr. Demarta did not elaborate, yet she charged as if for a full appointment (about $200, which the patient paid in cash). This has never happened with the previous owner of the practice, Dr. Turner, who had always been very thorough and patient-oriented, never in a haste, never overcharged.
Needless to say, my family will not go to see Dr. Demarta again.

Dr. Demarta is gentle, kind, attentive and knowledgeable - makes appropriate referrals, goes the extra mile. Always concerned about your comfort and procedures being pain free. Front office deal professionally with scheduling and insurance billing.
