I just wish he accepted a wider variety of insurance coverages.

I have been very happy with dr. stephen kato for many, many years. He is gentle, kind and does an great job in monitering progress -- such as when I had some of my front teeth chipped and monitering cracks. He also gives very practical advise when there were times I was unsure whether I had a cavity or not -- such as prior to a long trip when I was unsure whether I should have treatment done immediately or wait. Their staff is always consciensous when on calling in advance when reminding about appointments as well as setting up future appointments. A big thumbs up.

Dr. Kato has been my general dentist for 2 years. He has been extremely meticulous and provided service beyond what I have experienced at several other offices before. He has given me a couple of referals to examine specific conditions, and I don't get the impression that any of them are unnecessary. Overall, I am very pleased with his services and his staff.

The office is well run and friendly. They always work closely with you and your available insurance, so the price is always reasonable. The hygenists are professional, but also compassionate -- if you need them to be careful around a section of your mouth, you'll know what I mean. But the best part of going to Dr. Steven Kato is his work. He's professional, but also thorough and attentive to the patient's status and dental work needed. I've been going to him since he took over Dr. Greg Hiura's practice, and have recommended him to many people, none of whom have ever been dissatisfied.

Had Dr. Kato and his partner Dr. Kumagai as my dentists for 5 years. I came across them on a Bay Area U of Michigan Alumni recommendation list. They were terrific, as were their technicians and front desk staff. Well worth the trip from Sunnyvale up to Palo Alto. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Kato is great. His work is excellent, he is always very careful and (unlike every other dentist I've even been to) fillings and crowns are completely painless. The front office is always cheerful and helpful, make going to the dentist as pleasant as possible.
