Dr. Penner's office has been a joy to visit. The staff is friendly, accomodating and very helpful with reluctant insurance companies. The doctor has handled root canals, crowns, cleaning and fillings. I have also received a nighttime appliance to reduce chewing damage. The Doctor and Staff treat me like family. I would recommend this office to anyone.
About Hygienist: Hygienist and I have been together for many years. Sue is friendly, helpful and does a very good job.

Me and my entire family use Dr Penner's office and they're the best especially if you're anxious about dentistry at all. I don't think he's any more expensive than other dentists, and he bills my insurance first, and then bills me. I have seen some dentists that demanded that payment be made up front and insurance pays me... He also doesn't charge for nitrous oxide which many dentists do. His staff is supportive and cheerful and have turned me from being a sworn dentist-phobe into someone who visits now every 4 months for a cleaning.

Our family of 5 all go to Dr. Penner. When our Insurance changed and Dr. Penner was not in the new carriers network, we went to another office; because I was suspicious of work they were recommending I went back to Dr. Penner's office for a second opinion. My suspicions were confirmed, it was work that did not need to be done. From that point on, in-network or out-of-network regardless, Dr. Penner remains our family's dentist; he is outstanding in his field and his character is impeccable. His staff's welcoming greeting and willingness to help is appreciated. The Hygientists thoroughness leaves me with a confidence that my family's dental care is in check.

An excellent dentist technically and personally - also his staff of hygenists is top-notch. He did several crowns for me including all of my front upper teeth. They are beautiful. He was also able to correct a problem I had had with my bite for over 30 years. Having had extensive dental work performed over my lifetime including two full sets of dental crowns I have had the opportunity to experience several Dentist's services. He is by far the best in all ways.

Other than being rather pricey, Dr. Penner and his staff are probably among the best in the east bay area. They are all professional in the conduct of their business and completely up to speed on their own areas of expertise.
