Actually truth behold I would give him 0 stars. For the condescending way as he kept calling me honey while arguing about what pain medications I can take (because of my bad liver) to such extremes he had one of the girls that worked there get a book on medications. Needless to say he was wrong about Percondan. Forcing him to confess that unfortunately he got the privileges taken way from him to write out prescriptions for pain medication. A few days later I had to go from my primary doctors office straight to the emergency room and Lo and behold I was right as the emergency doctor wrote prescriptions for Oxycodone pain medication and stronger antibiotics for my bad tooth. I got nothing but red flags all over the place from Terrance A. Rust D.D.S

My friend was approved through MediCal to have 6 teeth extracted with Dr terrance rust after a 3 month wait. Dr terrance rust did not bother checking the patient file, walked into the room and asked her what was being done. Patient stated she was here for 6 extractions through MediCal, Dr terrance rust stated he was NOT going to do the procedure for $163 a tooth and proceeded to ask for alternate payment, another insurance company, cash, bank account or credit card. Dr terrance rust's nurse stated several times that the patient was approved, but Dr terrance rust kept stated, "I don't care if you have MediCal, I'm not doing it"
Dr terrance rust did remove 3 teeth, leaving the other teeth. After surgery my friend tried to talk to Dr terrance rust for post op care only to be told "you know what? You can leave and never come back".
Dr terrance rust is unprofessional, uncaring and obviously going against his agreement with the state insurance by asking for additional payment. I will be reporting him to the state board.

He immediately had an attitude that I was using Medical and I was advised that if I missed an appointment he would charge me $350 to punish me. I had never been there before. He insulted what I was wearing and said "We may be poor but we don't have to look it do we?" He wanted cash on top of Medical that he supposedly took. I waited for over two hours for a 2 minute consult. I would not trust someone like this to put me under for surgery. He told me if I wasn't cleanly shaven and didn't dress up for my next appointment he would not see me. I was wearing normal clothes, shirt, black pants, button down overshirt. He said if I wore the black felt cowboy hat that I was wearing again he would not see me either. He was a demeaning, dismissive ass. He also said that if I had less than two teeth that needed to be pulled that he would charge me an extra $329 to see me since Medical only pays him $30 per extraction.

About Hygienist: Insulting, rude, judgmental, demeaning, dismissive, holier than thou, this person should not be in business. If he doesn't want to take Medical, he shouldn't offer it. Go to Access Dental in Redding. They take Medical and they are nice. This guy is a total jerk - I am going to be putting in a complaint about this. Doctors can't talk to you about what you are wearing like this and treat you this way.
