I have been a patient of Dr. Tungol for years. I have seen better times in his office. I have not seen so many new faces in his office in I don't know how long. I was severely disappointed on my last visit. I actually walked out with no treatment. I waited in his office in his chair for almost an hour and a half or more. I didn't see him. No one checked on me, it seemed as if they had no time they were all running around with there heads down. I haven't seen or waited to be seen in his office like this in four or five years. It's a clinic again! I left, I told one of the nurses that I needed to get something out of my car. I will not go back there. My time is just as valuable, If I miss or cancel my appointment he can charge me $70.00. What is my recourse for him wasting almost two hours of my time, I am tired of waiting for him. At one time you could not find a better, caring doctor; now all he cares about is $$$$$$$, and buying that home on the golf course or Vegas. I wonder does he remember us his PATIENTS? or do we just mean another dollar?

I am writing to give my review of my experiences in Dr Tungol's office.I have read all the others and can report that I have had similiar experiences. Both good and bad.I have spent more money here than I would like, due to oh lets try this instead.I was first treatment planned by Dr Nikki(She is sweet & gentle), I was told I needed a root canal,I was scheduled back with Dr Tungol. He then told me no all you need is a crown and seemed like he was putting Dr Nikki down.I felt like I was not given a choice as to what was needed, I felt like I was a piece of meat. I felt like all I was, was a dollar sign.I needed the root canal anyhow. The staff is great, they just look worn out and tired.I also had other treatment done because since I did not need the root canal I could get other fillings done,It is not that I am afraid of or don't want to pay my bill,I just wasn't ready for such a large out of pocket expense. If I Dr Tungol had stuck to the first plan I think that I could trust him and would return to his office to have work done by Dr Nikki, but since I never know for sure which I will get,I am not returning or recommending him.I have been on her schedule before and forced to see him instead. A very diappointed patient.

Hello my name is Elena, in my 30 years of going to see dentist i have never had a dentist who would call me with so much concern. Just last week i had got some work done and hedid not want met leave until i was fine. not but 10 hours went by andi had a voice mail on my cell phone asking if i was ok. I so happy to here from him this was not the fist time he has called to check on me. i have had bad experiences with the dentist here in sacramento I would always miss my appointments and would end up with a bad toothache. It was not until last year I found this great dentist by the name of DR. Tungol and Dr. Nikki and there great staff. Just to name a few Raquel and Heather. I am now on the way to a great smile like i never had before. So for any of you who have bad mouth my dentist i am not sure what dentist you have seen, but it was not Dr. Tungol nor Dr. Nikki.

Dr. Tungol is one of the best dentists in the Sacramento area. He cares about his patients, and does his best. I think that most of the people who have a bad opinion about him or his practice has that opinion because they don't want to pay their dental bill and has probably been sent to a collections agency. There is no such thing as a "free-ride" in this world! That's reality...accept it.
Dr. Tungol has performed 2 root canals on me, that were re-dos from a different dentist who totally trashed my two molars. After Dr. Tungol performed the 2 root canals, my teeth felt fine and I was totally out of pain. He also referred me to one of the best orthodontists in Sacramento. I have had no problems with this dentist or his staff. They have provided me with excellent dental care. As for his staff...yes, they may be new, but nobody stays with a dental office forever...or in any job forever. Oh, and his previous office manager was Spring...not Summer! Get your facts straight buddy!

Dr. Tungol overbooks his schedule,I 've been seated 30 to 60 minutes after my scheduled appointment time on several occasions. His chairside demeanor tends to vary. The first time he is pleasant and friendly(this is when he is doing the exam). When I come back for the treatment I watch him run his dental nurses ragged, glare at them and make fun of their xrays and anything else he can pick on.He tends to pick the most expensive treatments first. He tells me first I need a root canal, next I don't. Let's prep it first. Then a few days later I call with an excrutiating throbbing only to be told after all you need a root canal. When he originally did what he calls a prep he did a second tooth that I had not given him permission nor had I been told the cost, after the work was done he told me both teeth had been prepped my temps were being made. Then he set me done in a little office after he realized what he had done, told me well I missed it earlier and that it needed it anyway, and that I am responsible for the cost.So now I am stuck with a $1200 bill.I also worry when I notice that his staff keeps changing. Now he lost his main front office person Summer,Her replacement SUCKS she has no people skills.

Dr. Tungol and his staff are the best. I would recommend him to all patients who want gentle dental care from an extremely competent dentist. He does all my dental work as well as all my family members.

I had a root canal and cleaning done at his office. The cleaning, done by his hygenist, was very thorough although also painful. The root canal was a rush job. He had other patients waiting while he did my root canal. When he inserted the needle, he grabbed my gums and shook them--that hurt really bad. He was very rough throughout the procedure, pressing too hard on the tooth and rushing through the job. The root canal failed and I eventually had to get the tooth removed by an oral surgeon. The surgeon said I had a hole in the top of my tooth with some gauze in it. He said that dentists usually filled the hole after doing the root canal.
Dr. Tungol schedules a ton of patients and then rushes through his work. That can cause problems considering he's using a drill and filling teeth.
I do not recommend him-go elsewhere. There are plenty of other dentists in town.
