Be aware. I also went for a clean up and i felt painful
during and after. I will never go to see him again.
I also had a clean up before with another doctor and the
procedure was very smooth.

I went to Dr. Shin for a routine cleaning and checkup. While certainly far from the worst experience of my life, I will be seeking another dentist. The cleaning was somewhat painful and uncomfortable... I felt as if more should have been done to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. LIttle things such as making sure toothpaste, spit, and water aren't dribbling out of my mouth and down the side of my face, and providing me with ample cups of water to rinse, all add up. I also didn't like the apparatus used for my cleaning. Very painful and uncomfortable. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and went above and beyond in taking care of my payment. With my insurance, I typically have to pay up front, and then submit a claim to the insurance company for reimbursement.... Dr. Shin's staff took care of that so I had to pay nothing out of pocket, which was nice.
