Read Reviews for Dr. Bruce Jespersen
aside from a slight pinch which he told me was coming, NO PAIN during the entire procedure....and I have a very low pain threshold;
saved those teeth - amazing because another dentist told me to have them pulled.
definitely would recommend - and already have - this fabulous dentist to everyone .

My dentist referred me to Dr Bruce Jespersen for root canal and I was pretty nervous about the procedure as it's painful.
I must say Dr Bruce is very professional, courteous and to the point. He does not waste your time to chit chat. He is straight to the point and does his work and gets you out in time. I found him super efficient and professional in every way! I would definitely recommend Dr. Bruce :-)
I had a 8am appointment and I had a deep decay in my tooth so he had to go deep to remove the decay and also numb the nerves on that tooth. He gave me the standard local anesthetic injections and started the procedure. I was a little stressed thinking it will be painful but I didn't feel the pain at all. He finished the procedure and took xray to make sure all was done and then the dental assistant did the finishing. I was given the post-procedure instructions of Do's & Dont's to take care of my tooth. I DROVE back home on my own, freshened up and went to work. I had my pain killers on my desk all day waiting for the pain after the local anesthetic wore out (it lasts between 2 to 6 hours!) It's 3:30pm and still at work and no pain. So far so good :-)))
About Front Desk: Very helpful, quick, efficient and friendly.

Referred to Dr. Jespersen for a root canal (my first) by my primary dentist. Friendly & efficient staff discussed in detail, and fully prepared me for, the operation. Dr. Jespersen has a comforting and professional manner, and he and his assistant did a great job in minimizing discomfort and rapidly (expertly) completing the root canal. My highest recommendation. I do not want another root canal - but if I need one in the future, I definitely would return to Dr. Jespersen.

I spent a pointless night with no sleep worrying about my root canal with Dr. Jesperson based on the reviews on this site. I can happily say my worries were completely unfounded. Dr. Jesperson was very friendly, professional and efficient. I don't know who likes to settle in for a nice liesurely chat with their dentist during a root canal, but I was simply hoping for someone who would listen to me, care if I was in pain, and do the job well. Dr. Jesperson was all of those things.
His assistant was also fantastic and noticed right away how tense and nervous I was. She told me to breathe, and helped reassure me the procedure was not that difficult or complicated. She got me a blanket when I said I was cold. I didn't feel one bit of pain as she and the doctor performed the root canal on my 3 months broken molar (which WAS causing me a lot of daily pain). I kept my eyes closed during prep as well, and couldn't even feel the novacaine injection.
If you have an appointment with Dr. Jesperson, be certain that you are in good hands and your scary sounding 'root canal' will be as pleasant and quick as I imagine it could possibly be. The cost did shock me, but it IS the Bay Area, what can you do?

Dr. Jespersen was awful. He was mean and didn't listen to my concerns. He actually made me cry. I was refered by my Insurance, but then I talked to my General Dentist after the failed proceedure and found out they don't refer to Dr. Jespersen anymore because hes has terrible chairside manner and have heard many complaints. I would rather have a rotting painful tooth then allow him to work on me. I ended up leaving and won't be going back!

Bed side manner is poor. The ftont desk people and hygienists are good though.

I needed a root canal and Dr. Jespersen was clinically efficient. The procedure was about 80% painless - some deep anesthetic injections were required which hurt a little in the beginning given the pain sensitivity of the tooth. However, he completed the entire procedure in less than an hour. They were also able to fit me in on an emergency basis. The only thing that bothered me is that he is very busy and will usually leave his dental assistant to answer routine questions. Now I need to go back to my regular dentist and get a permanent fillling and crown on the tooth.

I had a terrible root canal experience with Dr. Jespersen. He is very inconsiderate to what the patient needs, and refuses to listen to my concerns (simply walked away). I had a TMG jaw problem, which I have notified him through written and verbal ways. But he simply ignored this, and brutally used his hands to open up my mouth without any warning, my jaw problem gets worsened afterwards. The root canal result itself was terrible as well, the doctor even didn't give any post-treatment advice after the procedure
