Dr. Kawashima has been our family dentist for 15 years. He is very gentle, kind and very knowledgeable. My whole family absolutely loves him! When i moved to Santa Cruz, I went to four different Dentists, all troublesome experiences, with the exception of one Dentist who was great but charged twice as much as Dr. Kawashima. After 3 years of disappointment that includes having to have an implant because of a mistake made by another dentist, and other procedures that now cause me to chew in pain, I have gone back commuting to San Jose to see Dr. Kawashima. I really wished I would have stuck with him the whole time!

Dr. Kawashima is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. He explains everything that is recommended or needed for you. During any process, he explains exactly what is going on at the time and what step he is at. He clearly explains everything.

The best dentist my wife and I have had. Dr. K. really cares for his patients. In a very relaxing manner, he listens to them, and talks to them, taking all the time needed. His procedures are gentle and painless, and his instructions are thorough and oft-repeated. His long-time front-desk receptionist is also very efficient, friendly, and helpful. His fees are not cheap, but they don't appear to be any higher than the area's average. Very highly recommended.

Very nice doctor. I recently had my teenagers switch to him and they think he is great. After their first check up they talked about him at dinner for a half an hour. He explains everything he is going to do. He's also the most cheerful dentist you'll probably ever meet!
