Dr. Yanagi is the best dentist! Her hygienists are also very skilled and nice. Going to Dr. Yanagi's is as painless as dentistry can be.

Dr. Yanagi is fantastic. She takes care to prevent problems and explains everything so that you can understand it. Her office staff is professional and friendly. I value dental health and think costs are well worth the value.

Dr. Yanagi and her team of technicians are very good and very caring. My experience (amd my wife's) there over the last 2 years has been extremely good. I can highly recommend her services.
About Hygienist: My hygenist, Paula, is very conscientious and careful, and explains what she is doing and why and is always careful to ask if everything is going OK.

Dr. Yanagi insisted on me keeping two of my wisdom teeth in, even though my oral surgeon recommended I take them out. Dr. Yanagi said I had room in the back for them. But before I was scheduled to take out my wisdom teeth, Dr. Yanagi told me I had a cavity in one of my back teeth. It ends up she FILLED a cavity in the wisdom tooth I was scheduled to take out. So I was left with >$300 bill for a tooth to be filled I thought I was taking out!
I also forgot to take my prophylactic Amoxicillin before an appointment. But the office offered their own Amoxicillin for me to take. Amoxicillin, which is one of the CHEAPEST medications our pharmacies carry (i.e. PENNIES per tablet) cost me $85 for FOUR tablets from their office!
Her office is BEAUTIFUL, by the way. Wonder where they get all the money?
If you have great insurance, Dr. Yanagi and staff are great, but when it comes to paying for services, the charges are OUTRAGEOUS.

I found Dr. Yanagi on this website I choose her because she had the best reviews in the San Leandro area. Upon setting up a appt and going for a exam I was very pleased with the staff and the ambiance of the office. Dr Yanagi herself is very warm and great in explaining the exam and what the areas of concern were. I was having significant pain in my upper right molar and she reccomended a great Endodontist "Dr Dewey Tong". (great experience there too) next on the schedule is to have my front two teeth redone with veneers.
I am glad to say that I have finally found a dentist that I am confortable with and reassured that I will have nothing but the best dental care from Dr. Yanagi and her staff.

Dr. Yanagi and her staff were wonderful. I was taken into the exam room shortly after I arrived and was examined in a timely manner. She was very nice and very good and took care of my problem immediately. It was my first visit to her and I will continue to have her take care of my family's dental needs.

Dr. Yanagi is an exceedingly kind and generous dentist who is concerned with the overall health of her patients. She has sharp eyes and does not just monitor cavities but emotional/psychological health which can manifest itself as tooth grinding, clenching etc.
He staff is professional, courteous, very caring and they do not waste time. I've had crowns (new and replacement), tooth whitening, an abcess that was diagnosed by the doc but treated by another recommended oral surgeon (Dr. Dewey Tong I think) nearby, cavities filled and fillings replaced. I have always felt respected and thoroughtly professionally cared for. They do pay attention to one's need for additional novacaine and are exceedingly conscientious when it comes to billing one's insurance company.
The offices were renovated when they moved in a few years ago and they are gorgeous.

Dr. Yanagi is the best. I have been going to Dr. Yanagi for many years. She has embellished my smile and has set me on the road to great dental hygiene. My son, who is now 28, went to Dr. Yanagi as a child. (That tells you how long I have been a patient of Dr. Yanagi.) Her personable attitude and kind, gentle manner are just two qualities that have to be mentioned. It goes without saying that her communication skills are superlative. She is a master at placing all of her patients at ease, while performing the most innovative and creative procedures that result in outstanding dental work. I just can't say enough about her skill, patience and warm personality.
The great experience begins the moment you walk into the office. You are greeted by the most friendly persons in San Leandro. You can certainly tell that everyone works as a team. It is refreshing to see the collaborative nature of the entire staff.
