Predatory, over-charge original estimates by 6 times and do a bad job.
Dr. Sperbeck had originally given me an estimate of 1500USD to 3000USD for the dental work for around an hour or two and the anesthesia was for an hour or two as well for around 700USD to 1400USD.
On the day of the dental treatment, I was suddenly informed AFTER the procedure that cost was now 9000USD (5500USD for doctor Sperbeck and 3500USD separately for Dr. Gottschalk).
As I am a professor and my entire monthly salary and credit card limit is around 5000USD this was in shock and I was able to pay Dr. Sperbeck but my credit card was maxed out regarding Dr. Gottschalk and the insurance had indicated that to Dr. Gottschalk could submit the claim directly.
Dr. Gottschalk, however, refused to accept the insurance rather writing me threating emails.
The insurance had offered to pay a usual amount but Dr. Gottschalk perhaps assumed that he could extract more money from a frightened mother.

I know this doctor: My 4-year old son was put into hospice due to having a fulminant course of the terminal illness SSPE. Due to the albuterol treatments for respiratory issues he had some tooth decay and I wanted to make sure he was not in pain during the last phase of his life.
