My regular dentist was not sure if I had a cracked tooth and needed an extraction and an implant or a failed root canal. He referred me to Dr. Palermo because Palermo has a special imaging device that allows him to see cracks and hidden roots. The image was not covered by insurance ($250) because it is considered experimental. Palermo took a full set of images. He assured me that my tooth was not cracked and that I did not need an implant ($5,000). Palermo assured me that it was a failed root canal that he could redo for $1500. I came back in a week and Palermo cleaned out the prior root canal and prepped me for the new root canal. He was in my mouth for almost two hours and he never mentioned there was a problem. I came back two weeks later for the actual root canal. He was in there for an hour and suddenly he stopped working and walked out of the room without a word of explanation. He came back 20 minutes later and told me the tooth was in fact cracked and I needed it extracted and an implant. So either he did not read his fancy image correctly when I first came in or he broke my tooth while he was in there the first or second time drilling and pressing. He charged me $450 even though he did nothing that helped me.

Best experience you could want if you need a root canal!!! Knowledgeable, caring, funny, meticulous all describe Dr. Palermo. He has wonderful, friendly staff and super clean office and treatment areas. When I was in the worst tooth pain ever and I asked my dentist who was the best, he told me Dr. Palermo...and he was right on point. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I simply cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Palermo. This endodontist provided me with the absolute best dental experience I've ever had in my life. I was referred to him by my regular dentist after learning that I needed a root canal and I was very anxious about the experience. Upon the first consultation, Dr. Palermo made me feel totally at ease. I had my root canal yesterday and it was wonderful (how often do you hear that about a procedure like this?!). This doctor and his assistant were so empathetic with my anxiety and put me completely at ease. He explained everything he was about to do before doing it and I never felt pain of ANY kind during any part of the procedure. It took about 3 hours, but they used various apparatus to keep my mouth comfortable during such a long period with my mouth open. Not only did I have no pain during the procedure, but felt absolutely nothing when the novocaine wore off. I even went to the gym last night after the procedure, I felt that good! I feel nothing today, it's as though nothing even happened. This is one of the most gentle docs I've ever met, and most calming as well. An added bonus is the beautiful and relaxing environment. Worth every penny; I would never go anywhere else!
