Dr. Murthy's treatment is effective, but his attitude makes it an uncomfortable process. This man does not have people skills. He is condescending, arrogant, rude, and curt. I highly recommend you consider other orthodontists. I got my braces done with him a couple of years ago and it was a frustrating 2 years of my life. His treatment is also more expensive than the other orthodontists I consulted. He may seem accommodating during the consult, but once you hand over the money he reveals his true attitude. I was afraid to ask questions and discuss my treatment because of his rude demeanor and impatience.

Dr. Murthy is tops. I was very pleased with his treatment and am delighted with the results. I had one extraction, done at MGH at the start of treatment, then braces on upper and lower teeth. Now I no longer have 'a witchy tooth' and am smiling a lot more! The treatment was completed in less time than expected, about 18 instead of 20 months. I would definitely recommend Dr. Murthy to others, either adults or children. The office location is convenient in terms of street parking and T access and the office itself is attractive, bright and well laid out.
About Front Desk: All of Dr. Murthy's staff are very pleasant and capable. The practice manager was always responsive in rescheduling appointments, when needed, and helpful in answering billing questions. I actually looked forward to my appointments!

I was getting a lot of headaches from clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth while I slept. Dr. Murthy made a mouth guard for me to help with the problem. I liked him a lot! He took the time to explain how a mouth guard prevents against grinding and he was very clear as to what to expect when being fitted for one. He also let me wear it for a few weeks and then come back into his office so that he could check the wear of the mouth guard to ensure it was aligning in my mouth properly. I thought he was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
About Front Desk: His front desk staff was very friendly. They were very easy to work with and were accomodating when booking my follow-up appointment.

I found Dr. Murthy to be difficult to communicate with and not willing to explain procedures and outcomes. The office and other staff are very nice, but I can not recommend overall.
