Ruined my life! All I wanted was to have a cap replacement that I lost.. He also noticed my left front tooth/crown loose.So he determined that I needed a removable bridge and proceeded to extract two capped teeth and two good porceline crowns! I also needed to have an abscess tended too which he did last. Of which when I returned for a already paid for one of my two future cleanings included in $3,000 plus fee for service, he became irate and angered and asked me to leave his office and don't come back! I stated, "but, my cleaning a schedule for today! and I need to have it done." He still refused. Since the bridge, material was placed in my mouth, including the temp, I have experienced allergic reactions, including facial rash, swelling of left side of face, two days after root canal, large blotch below left eye, lips swollen, sore throat and inability to swallow. Which continues to this day. I have been taking Benadryl every morning to reduce the side effects of the bad chemical content of the bridge. I am frightened and having sleep deprivation due to the constant secretion of saliva due to the poison I am exposed to in the dental material. It seems that the dental lab that he uses is in Pa and owned by a the former dentist.

About Front Desk: Seemed very nice at first and them was not very nice after full payment received. Which I may say was paid in full for each visit. (office appointment).

About Hygienist: Was refused service and told not to return to his office, because I questioned his product and also the repitive exrays being taken on each visit. The dental assistant, made an error with the digital photo and stated "oh, I have to take it again." I was concered about excess radiation and she took of the protetive cover from my chest an threw it on a chair, causing it too fall to the floor. She was very irate and dislayed the same irrational behavior as her employer! I was being very nice and expressed my concerns in a calm and intellengetn mannor! I did not deserve such horrible treatment. When I exited the office I met with a senior woman and she too was upset over his bad treatment to her. She had some sores on her mouth and told her he doesn't know what it is. I assume bacteria from poor sterilization of equipment and lack of hand washing and no bio hazard containers in sight!

This dental office does not allow you to speak with the doctor on the telephone. I have sent him a personal and confidential letter to ask for a partial refund that is due to me. His office would not pass on my message nor allow me to talk to him. His staff is unprofessional and will take this further if I do not hear directly from Dr. Shaffren. I was lead to believe untruths and now want a partial refund which is I justified in my letter. Joan, his office manager, is rude and believes she holds the reins in this dentist's office. Not true! According to the American Dental Association they agreed my request should be granted. Do not go to this dentist!

Have been coming here since he bought practice from former dentist. Very pleasant, wonderful staff (especially receptionist Charlotte and hygienist Debbie). We purchased the office's dental insurance which can be explained by staff. Facility immaculate. Would and have recommended to several of our friends.

About Front Desk: Charlotte is great. When we've had an emergency (i.e., broken crown, pain for any reason), she fits us in.

About Hygienist: Deb is great.

worst dentist I went to. Never completed crowns in front of mouth, charged me $6,000 and my dental plan $4,000 and would not complete the work, said he couldn't do the job. His attorney got him off the hook. I took him to small claims but had to continue to a higher court and ultimately gave up. His own atty told me to pursue, felt so bad for me but I just gave up. He's a crook He has one good review on the internet which he must have posted himself. He is the worst ever.

Office Staff is great and wonderful. Doctor Shaffren spent a lot of time with me telling me everything I needed to have done. He was very courteous and professional. Best of all, I can smile again thanks to him. I would recommend him to everyone. He is the greatest
