Dr. Slaven performs substandard bordering on incompetent work. He had an unlicensed employee - Joseph Oliver diagnose me which led to drilling out the wrong tooth. Then they insisted I pay for a crown which was now needed for that tooth. When I objected they discharged me as a patient - PATIENT ABANDONMENT. Additionally, my new dentist discovered extremely poor quality of other work performed by Dr. Slaven that requires a redo. Slaven replaced all my amalgam fillings with resin because he said I could suffer from mercury toxicity - however new xrays reveal he left substantial amounts of the amalgam in my teeth, now covered with the resin. Case is currently going to the CA. Dental Board for review (2-23-11). If you're looking for a dentist pass on Canyon Dental in Valencia, Dr. Slaven and find another. If you are a current patient of Dr. Slaven and Canyon Dental in Valencia, CA do yourself a favor and find a new dental provider before they do irreparable damage to you.
