He is a great dentist. My friend referred me to him when I moved jobs and was searching for a new dentist. From the first moment I stepped into his office, the staff made me feel so welcome it almost seemed like I had been a long time patient. He spend a lot of time going over procedures and services with you and makes it feel very personal. I'm happy to have found a great dentist like him in sunnyvale!

Dr. Mathews was referred to us when our son first started getting teeth. The first visit was great, he gave him a ride up and down in the chair blew air at him, looked at his teeth and gave him a balloon. The son is now 21 and still sees Dr. Mathews. My wife has also seen him for 21 years and when I left the Navy I also went to him.
He has replace bridges, fillings and other battle damage that Navy dentists did to me over the years.
And the office staff is excellent, friendly and efficient.
I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area that needs a dentist.
About Hygienist: Nasinet has been with Dr. Mathews for several years and is very proficient and gentle. They are not part of a group so they work very well together.

They are small but very personable. Bill is never rushed and always has time for you. The whole staff is warm and friendly!

Dr. Mathews is an artist. His meticulousness attention to detail and concern for appearance and client comfort are beyond compare. He is a witty conversationalist.
I would never send a friend or a family member to anyone else!

I've been a patient of Dr. Mathews for over 10 years as has my wife. He and his staff are terrific and wouldnt think of going anywhere else. I've never had anything but the best dental experience due to Dr. Mathew's second to none "bedside manner." The most impressive aspect of his practice is his unwillingness to engage in frivolous and unnecessary treatment and his sensitivity to a patients anxiety during a dental exam at the expense of making an extra dollar or two. He never waivers in his dedication to looking out for the best interests of his patients. Anyone offering less than the highest rating for this dentist should be viewed as profoundly lacking credibility.

There's something really tense about this doctor. He is very quick to let you know he feels insurance is a form of socialized medicine and he hates it. He almost seems to take pleasure at times in painting the worst case scenario. When I had some real problems, he implied that all my problem teeth would have to be removed or veneered or have root canals and I felt he really took pleasure in letting me know. I told him I would get a second opinion and he told me not to bother coming back if I did. My husband went to him once and never went again. He said he felt the guy was abrassive.
