Read Reviews for Dr. Elwood Wong
Dr Wong created a cantilevered bridge spanning the 3 lower left molars (middle molar having been extracted). He did root canals and implanted posts in the extremities. This bridge has lasted 45 years so far. :-) He is an exceptional dentist and wonderful human being.

Doctor Wong has been our family dentist for over thirty years. The treatment we have received from him and his staff has always been first class.
There is no need to worry about pain, as he is very gentle and always concerned about the patients. Our only concern is that he is now in his 80's and slowing down. Also getting hard of hearing.
About Hygienist: Very good and very thorough. When we first started 30+ years ago, Vickie put the fear of god in us for not flossing regularly. Every since we have flossed regularly and our teeth and gums haves benefited from our improved dental habits.

Woody always has the best Jazz music playing in the background. I always feel relaxed and appreciate the extra attention that Dr. Wong provides.

If all doctors were as good at their job as Dr. Wong, people would go to dentists and hospitals much more often. Although the procedures I've had done were routine, Dr. Wong and his staff have never made any small mistake, so far as I can tell. Some years ago he was rated top in every area, except making patients wait -- no surprise, he loves to talk to his patients, and gives them as much time as they need.
Don't plan on finding all the latest equipment in his office. Dr. Wong is one of the oldest practicing dentists in the Bay Area, but that mostly adds up to a lot of worthwhile experience. Many people seem to think their dentist is a real find, but it's hard to imagine someone who's better.

For about 30 yrs. I have gone to Dr. "Woody" Wong. He is by far the best dentist I have ever worked with. He works painfree, explains every option and its cost prior to working on your mouth, diagrams out what is happening in your mouth, uses the most up to date casting and filling techniques, and does it all with a great sense of humor, kindness and making you feel as if you are his favorite patient. There are famous touring jazz musicians who wait til they are playing gigs in SF to get their dental work done by him; he's got a rep! Amazing man.
I once got into a heated discussion with a friend on which of us had the best dentist. We both were bragging. It was only when he said, "Well, Elwood is so gentle..." and I said "Wait. Elwood?! You mean Woody?!" that we realized we were both bragging about the same guy.
When I say pain free, I mean it. I HATE novocaine, so Woody showed me how he could drill my tooth at a slow speed (3 min. total) rather than normal speed (25 sec.) and not use it. NO pain or discomfort; I didn't pay for any novocaine, and I could talk immediately. He's built my 6 crowns (thanks to my bad childhood dentist!) All were perfect. I even had Woody sign one for me - he's the master!

My whole family goes to Dr. Wong, including my sisters Mom who comes all the way from Nevada. He has been my only dentist for 23 years and he is the gentlest ever. I have never needed to be doped up for any fillings. He has the magic touch!!
