When we were new to the area, I made an appointment with Dr. Banker for a checkup for my daughter. A few months later, my husband had a root canal done by him and within a few weeks was in a lot of pain. By this time, I had seen all the negative reviews online of this dentist and knew more people to recommend a different dentist. Several colleagues warned me to never go to Dr. Banker, and we have since found an excellent dentist. Unfortunately, my husband's root canal had to be redone, and the ill-fitting cap that Banker put on had to be replaced. My husband has suffered pain for almost a year while all of these mistakes were corrected and it has cost us considerable money.

I had a cleaning. My hygienist Alex was great I was able to get an appointment within a few days. The office took my insurance.

I've had everything from teeth cleaning to filling cavities to several crowns and one root canal. I know he doesn't have the best bedside manner but he is a very good dentist so who cares? Plus, he is usually very understanding about paying over time for expensive procedures.

About Hygienist: The older lady made me uncomfortable with her scolding about not flossing enough but the Vietnamesse hygeniest is very nice.

Worst. Dentist. Ever. For unknown reasons, he was included in a Washingtonian "Best Dentist" list years ago & was also in my PPO plan. A very weird person. I have a sense of humor so first thought he was joking with his rude manner; he wasn't. Uneasy feeling! He decided I needed "root planing" which took 4 separate visits involving lots of novocaine, pain, time & money. Then he insisted on yanking a wisdom tooth that didn't hurt or obstruct my bite; in the process of removing it, he apparently fractured my jaw. I left in terrible pain which only got worse... my R.N. sister told me to get on a strong antibiotic, which Banker finally agreed to. Not long after, I had an x-ray at an Ear Nose & Throat doc for sinus trouble which showed I'd had a fracture to the upper jaw, right where the wisdom tooth had been pulled. I'm convinced Banker did it. Also, during one of my visits, I heard a foreign man disagreeing with the rude receptionist over his bill; when the man left the entire staff, including Dr. Banker, mocked the man's accent in a shocking way. Just the absolute worst! I was so rattled arriving for a follow-up visit I turned too sharply into his driveway and shattered my headlight - bad omen! AVOID THIS DENTIST AT ALL COSTS

About Hygienist: The first hygienist was a nice older lady, and really the only reason I stayed, I guess. She did most of the work of the "root planing" but left the practice soon after. The 2nd hygienist I had said a crudely inappropriate thing about another patient's breath, which I laughed at at the time, but later thought was awfully weird & unprofessional.

I highly do NOT recommend Dr. Banker because he has the worst bedside manner that I have ever encountered. I went to Dr. Banker because I thought I had something stuck in my tooth. Dr. Banker couldn't find what I thought I felt and immediately became very rude to me. He flossed my tooth and then took a polisher to ostensibly file down a chip in my tooth. He then said, "Is your problem better?" and when I hesitated in my answer, because my tooth now just felt different, he said, "It's simple - a yes or no question!" In a way that I can only describe as rude and degrading, he continued to badger me, saying repeatedly, "Are you or are you not better? I don't know what you are feeling." I again hesitated, and he said angrily, "Look, do you want to just sit here?" Then he started polishing my tooth again, and at this point, I was quite frankly flabbergasted at his behavior and scared at his short temper. When he stopped polishing my tooth, I quickly told him I was better simply to get out there - and I will NEVER go back to him again. My description doesn't really do justice to the interaction, but I say again that it was horrible - and I do NOT recommend him.

Dr. Banker has unfortunately hired a receptionist (Kelly) that was incrediblly rude to me. I have gone to the practice for over 9 years and could not believe the treatment I received. This practice has become very unprofessional. I have taken my business elsewhere.

Dr. Banker was recommended by a friend. The office was pleasant and the hygenist effective. The Dr. seemed rushed and appeared to have more patients than he had time for. He didn't take the time to build any confindence in me for him. He proceeded to give me five caps. One thing that was disturbing, but is possibly common practice, is that when the cap was rubbing the tooth on my other jaw, he ground it down a little, and then proceeded to grind the living tooth on the other jaw so that the cap would fit. The teeth have begun to hurt again in less than a year and I will be seeking a new dentist to look at them.

7 implants - ALL are not snug. Food particles at the gum line are making the gums red and teeth starting to rot.

I had a veneer redone on one of my front teeth after it being there for many years. It stuck out in color from the rest of my teeth. The color was hard to match but the doctor was patient and sent both me and the veneer back to the lab many times until it was pretty much perfect. I didn't feel like I had to accept whatever was given to me.

Recently moved to the area and decided to try Dr. Banker. The dental office seems clean and a couple of the staff are nice, but the Dr. could use a little more chair-side manners. As far as procedures are concerned, I don't think the work is great in comparison to other dentists I have visited and switched dentists after only a couple of visits.
