Read Reviews for Dr. Sara Cohen
Dr. Sara follows in the Cohen family tradition of providing technically outstanding dental care in a very efficient and patient centered environment. The Cohens have provided myself and my husband with complete dental services for more than 30 years. We have always found them to be superb clinicians who run an efficient and high quality practice. Whenever specialist services are needed, they provide a referral to another excellent practice and follow up to be sure that the service provided was done well. The hygienists are also outstanding -- we particularly love Grace.
About Hygienist: Very skilled and pleasant. We always ask for Grace, and she is fantastic.

I had a filling come out one evening shortly after moving to DC, and right before I was travelling abroad, so I was VERY anxious to get it fixed quickly. I probably should have taken a hint of her popularity when she had an appointment the next morning free, but like I said, I was anxious to get it done quickly. She was not friendly, and it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. She had left me waiting for a long time after applying anesthetic, and when she began drilling it was causing me a LOT of pain--I fliched, made noise, and as she continued to ignore me put my hand up to try to get her attention--her only response was to say "don't touch my hand." (I wasn't even touching her hand or attempting to; I had simply raised my hand attempting to gesture "stop.") I accept that sometimes dentistry hurts, but I have never had a dentist show complete disregard (even annoyance!) for me indicating that I am feeling pain from whatever procedure they are doing. I will definitely not be returning to her office.

The office is extremely nice as is the staff. Everytime I am there however I have had to wait in the dental chair for at least 45 minutes to be seen. This time just increases anxiety levels. Three small fillings cost me $900 (they don't accept most insurance plans). I've never had a bad filling experience until I came here. The filling process hurt like no other even after I had two novocaine shots. I've had fillings before without novocaine so I can deal with pain, at least I thought so until I came here. After the experience my mouth ached for over a week which also has never happened after I've had fillings before. They then informed me I needed another filling on the other side of my mouth. I told them I would call to make an appointment when it was convenient for me. As a result, they call me up to seven times a day on all of my phones trying to set up an appointment. This would be nice if it only occured once however they pester me with phone calls on a daily basis even after I've told them to stop. Overall I think I would recommend going to her father or grandfather who are also dentists in the office. They seem much more personable and on top of things. For what you're paying it is not worth the pain that I had to endure.

Dr. Cohen was a good dentist. Efficient and knowledgeble. I don't think there was anything that made her stand out from other dentists, but she was good.
