Horrible service and Dr. Alan Wasserman charged 10 times the amount I had to pay at another location in Boca for an oral appliance to treat sleep apnea.

I recently moved to the area from Chicago, where I had great work done at an amazingly up-to-date facility. I chose Dr. Wasserman as my FL dentist due to the fact that he was covered by my new insurance and had a great website. ...What a mistake! Although the doctor is extremely personable, he seems to be in it for the money, often suggesting new and aesthetic procedures when none are necessary or desired.
My biggest complaint, however, is with Dr. Wasserman's staff. He has several hygenists/assistants/secretaries working for him, none of whom seem to know what any of the others is doing... During a recent procedure for a crown, for example, 3 such assistants tried to get me to sign different copies of the same consent forms. Further, they tried to get me to sign my consent for at least two procedures I was not getting!!
Finally, and not quite as significant, Dr. Wasserman's #1 assistant/hygenist has horrible breath, yet is the only patient-seeing professional who refuses to wear a face mask when assisting patients. When I (kindly) asked her to wear one, she scoffed, and then proceeded to spray my face with water six times (I counted) while purporting to rinse my mouth.
I will NOT be returning to Dr. W's office.

Dr. Wasserman has a painless touch backed by years of experience. I have undergone several procedures at West Boca Dental Associates and wouldn't have it any other way! Dr. Wasserman is always a phone call away and has been there for me whenever I had an emergency. His staff is friendly and professional and I would highly recommend Dr. Wasserman to anyone looking for superior quality service.
About Hygienist: I have also seen the Hygienist several times. I know their office has 2 on staff but I have only seen 1. She has been extremely thorough in her exams and also has a gentle touch. I always walk out with my mouth feeling clean and refreshed. I would also highly recommend the Hygienist to anyone looking for a great cleaning!

Dr. Wasserman himself is a good and personable dentist, however his office policies are the worst. He is a negotiated dentist on my plan, however his office charges more than the negotiated rates; for example for a crown they tack on a $150 lab fee that no other dentist on the plan includes. Also, they will sometimes make you pay for services upfront, even if they are covered on your plan. For a porcelien veneer I had re-cemented, they charged me $150 upfront, when the neogtiated rate per the plan was $41. He had also been charging a "disposable waste" fee per appointment, but I'm not sure if he's still doing that. If you have the money, and you don't mind spending extra or above and beyond what your plan has negotiated for you, then he is a fine choice.

Amicable, pleasant and professional-overall good work. Staff review mixed...some good, some not...a Dale Carnegie class (or 12) wouldn't hurt. Facilities functional, but could use some upgrade. Usually punctual, but definitely needs new & better magazine subscriptions in waiting area.

When I moved and switched dentists, they refused to let me take my recent x-rays despite the fact that I paid for them.
