Dr Chun is gentle, gives great explanation of procedure and potential outcomes. Is very pleasant, polite and courteous to his assistant who is a gem of an assistant. Office staff polite,courteous,thorough. I recommend them highly.

If you are ever referred to Dr. Chun; my advice....RUN! No chair-side manner, no explanations, just a robot that was totally oblivious to my pain and discomfort. Never once asked if "I was OK." He should be working on cars, not people. Same for his assistant. Not one word spoken. Bizarre indeed.

About Front Desk: What kind of office doesn't accept credit cards. How odd.

Extremely poor office management. I received a report on my credit report 4 YEARS after treatment that I owed money to this office. I have moved several times since treatment and NOT ONCE did they call me on the cell phone and I have the same phone number to this day. I called them and they said they sent "several mailings" to me and would not tell me when or to which address and then they hung UP ON THE PHONE ON ME while I was trying to get their assistance. Extremely poor customer service, rude, and actually they don't care about contacting their patients to determine if bills are even being received by the patients.

About Front Desk: Rating above. I wasn't allowed to speak, was interrupted several times, and she actually hung up on me. unbelievable. I asked to speak with her boss, the doctor, and he refused to even hear what occurred so that this we could possibly resolve this.

I've had three root canals by Dr. Chun. During the filling of the canal, Dr Chun applied extreme pressure causing prolonged burning pain in a tooth when treatment was nearly complete. He was angry that I had been ten minutes late for my appointment and refused to do the two root canals scheduled within a one-hour time slot--because I was ten minutes late. (I had come from my general dentist's office cross town and flown in from a neighbor island to get both root canals and crowns done in two days.)He refused to talk with me to allow me to explain that if he did not complete two root canals, I would not be able to do the crowns on those teeth while on O'ahu. After my general dentist intervened, I returned day two for the second root canal. However, the first root canal took a full hour, the second, 45 minutes. So even if I had not been ten minutes late, he could not have completed two root canals in one hour time slot. He admitted he had been "pushing it" in schduling two treatments in one hour-but he gave me a tongue lashing for being late. His practice seems exclusively money-driven, packing in as many patients as possible in a day. I would never go back to him and would not recommend him to anyone. Lacks compassion and humanity.

About Front Desk: woman at the front desk is polite, but has been trained like robot to repeat the party line. I asked to speak with the doctor to explain that I could not fly back again to do the second root canal. She smiled and maintained the road block. I was not allowed to speak with the doctor until I agreed to do half the work and was sitting in the chair. When I then tried to explain Dr. Kimo Chun became very angry, even hostile and confrontational. I've never had a doctor/dentist be so unprofessional. He completed the work the next day after my general dentist intervened, but I will never go back to that office and I urge others who do go to make sure that he's scheduled enough time to complete the work and does not have to rush through--or turn the tables on you if he can't complete the work.

Warning: This dentist does substandard work. I went to him when he was practicing in California. Found out years later he did my root canal too short. At the time he was boasting he could do root canals very fast. Sure, he could, because he was not doing them correctly. Unfortunately, by the time I found out he botched it the statute of limitations ran out. Now I know why he left California...

I had a root canal treatment on a lower first molar. Treatment was a success. I experienced no pain (only a little with the shot). The facility was very neat and clean. Dr. Chun and staff were very professional and worked efficiently. I would recommend this endodontist to anyone who may need a root canal.

I had a root canal on my lateral incisor, tooth no. 10. I've always been somewhat nervous when it comes to dental care, but I found Dr. Chun to be very professional, quick, and thorough as far as the procedure went, and great about answering any questions I had. The staff was great, too, very helpful in answering any questions and getting back to me with answers. The treatment was a complete success.

Dr. Chun is thoughtful and very through in his communication of what he will be doing. His staff is attentive and professional. Dr. Chun makes you feel comfortable and has a very calm demeanor which makes the overall experience stress free. He's great and his staff is great!

Dr Chun has a calm manner and is clearly very smart. I've had a number of root canals and his work is the best, with the least pain. I highly recommend him.

I think he is the best !!! I had no pain at all. I did not even have to take pain killer after!
