Read Reviews for Dr. Mohamed Fayad
I have had 2 root canals and one other procedure by Dr Fayad and he is an excellent diagnostician and skillful clinician. He is focused on saving teeth and making it as painless as possible. His office has up to date equipment and he explains everything. A root canal is never easy but I could not imagine going anywhere else as he has a Ph D and is so specialized.

My previous dentist botched a root canal (left a portion of root in the tooth) and then followed that up by botching a crown. Both procedures, which were supposed to be preventative measures to protect against future pain, actually caused immediate pain following their completion.
So, I decided to look for a stellar dentist who could fix my other dentist's mistakes. Using the reviews on here, I first found Dr. Spector, but it turns out that he doesn't do this sort of work. But he recommended that I call Dr. Fayad, and I am so happy that I did!
My original root canal was one of the most unpleasant procedures I've ever had done to me. It took nearly three hours, and my Novacaine kept wearing off. For years after it was complete, my tooth was suddenly very sensitive to hot and cold and routinely throbbed terribly. These were all problems that the root canal was supposed to PREVENT.
Dr. Fayad root-canaled the original and was done in 45 minutes! And I had absolutely zero pain during and after the procedure. It's now weeks later, and I'm still 100% pain free! I told Dr. Fayad that I'd even go so far as to describe his root canal as "pleasant" and asked if he could root canal all of my teeth!

THE BEST Endodontist that you will ever find! Before I found Dr. Fayad I had been treated by dentists in Boston. Their solution to my pain was always a root canal. I have had 12. When I moved to Chicago Dr. Fayad was very suspicious of why I needed all of the previous root canals. He determined that my problem was not related to my roots but my facial nerves instead. I love this man. I will be moving out of state and I will come back to Chicago for treatment by him. He is the very best that I have ever found. You will be in good hands.

Dr Fayad retreated a root canal that another dentist had not done properly. It was very complicated and took three one hour appointments but he was calming and upbeat throughout the entire proceedure.

I had a root canal through a crown and was in and out of there in 30 minutes with a great result. He saved the crown, which was my biggest concern.
Super pleasant, very informative, great experience. Did a great job with the pain...I was comfortable through the entire process. I highly recommend Dr. Fayad

Mohamed Fayad is fabulous. I came to him with a root canal a general dentist had screwed up, and he was concerned that he might not be able to do the job properly, and that I might ultimately need surgery, but he agreed to go ahead and give it a go. I watched him on the monitor for the microscope (state of the art equipment!) and he carefully finessed the job and straightened out the complicated problem without surgery. When I later thanked my general dentist for referring me to him, he told me that there are several endodontists he refers to, but that he sent me to Mohamed because I had a difficult case, and he thinks he is so talented, and also because he has a well deserved reputation for attempting to solve hard problems that other docs shy away from -- I couldn't agree more! Since then he has had to help again with another problematic tooth -- and even though I have moved from the area, I'd fly back to see Mohamed if I needed another root canal. He's got excellent judgment, can justify all his reasoning for procedures, and can answer any hard question you throw at him. He's an endodontist that other dental pros would go to -- not because he is one of those that holds your hand during the procedure -- b/c he's GOOD!
