Read Reviews for Dr. Shepard Goldstein
A few years ago I saw this guy. The staff were nice enough, but Dr Goldstein really did me wrong. He started a root canal on me and told me he couldn't finish because my tooth was cracked. He sent me directly to his buddy down the street-an oral surgeon to have my tooth pulled. I didn't feel right about it, so I went back to my primary dentist the next day (after a night of horrendous pain!) and he told me my tooth had a large perforation. He sent me to another Endodontist who repaired it and got me out of pain. I still have my tooth to this day and it's dong great. I'm glad I sought a second opinion and am very disappointed with the dishonesty and complete lack of ethics of Dr Goldstein. Hopefully he's retired now, but if not, stay far far away.

Warm, friendly office. Dr. Goldstein is gentle, extremely knowledgeable and a superbly skilled endodontist.
I have had multiple root canals performed by him. Chair side manners both of Dr. Goldstein and his helper were extremely professional and considerate. Office staff efficient and competent.
I would, and have, recommended many people to him.

I was in the Boston area from Southern California on vacation when my tooth began to bother me. The following morning, my sister's dentist sent me to Dr. Shephard Goldstein for further diagnosis as the xray couldn't permeate my crown. Dr. Goldstein's tests determined I needed a root canal. My childhood experiences with dentists were scary, painful, and filled with anxiety. Dr. Goldstein and his staff were so professional and easy-going, providing me with the tools to sit back and relax in the chair. The office graciously provides nitrous oxide gas, which I took full advantage of. After the very quick drilling to access the canal, I was so relaxed I asked that the nitrous be removed. The procedure took approximately 1 hour. It's been a week and during that time, my tooth socket did experience the usual tenderness associated with the procedure. Small, daily doses of Ibuprofen eased the discomfort and the tooth is ready for its permanent filling. The entire experience in Dr. Goldstein's office was pleasant, relaxing, and encouraging. I have no fears nor anxiety about undergoing any future root canals due to Dr. Goldstein's chairside manner as well as his expertise. He is an expert craftsman and a very gentle man.
