l had a misdiagnosed (sinusitis) root canal that was treated with four separate courses of antibiotics (by my FORMER dentist and my otolaryngologist) spread over 3 months. So it wasn't exactly a breeze to deal with the swelling, the pain etc, etc. Finally, recommended by great dr Horowitz I came to dr Mitrut's office. He has two locations: one in Gramercy off Park Ave, 3 minutes from Union Square and the second one in Astoria, very close to Subway train. Park Ave office is very well put together, sort of a house music makes you feel as if you are waiting for a martini rather than drilling. Then you meet dr Mitrut who is perfect, exceptional, fantastic. All four times when we met he always made me feel very at ease and confident that whatever happens he would be able to deal with and talked to me about recent, future and possible procedures. On the third visit when it wasn't clear if the further and more complicated surgery wont be needed he spent xtra time and went xtra miles to fight that nasty bacteria. Oh dr Mitrut, you have no idea what a relief it was to find out on the last visit that everything seems fine! You are an amazing doctor, gentle, knowledgeable and EFFECTIVE. Thank you.

I have a superb dentist who has performed many root canal procedures. He recommended Dr. Mitrut for my complicated tooth problem. At first, I was very apprehensive about having this treatment. As a physician (oncologist), I learned multiple times how important it is to verify credentials of everyone. After I did my research and checked other endodontists in NYC, I was incredibly impressed by his education and unique achievements in microendodontics. He answered all my questions and explained all the procedures in details. Dr. Mitrut was able to save my tooth and I could never express how grateful and appreciative I am for his care. His surgical skills are unmatched. His insight and knowledge of endodontics far exceeds that of all other doctors. Nobody can do what only Dr. Mitrut can do and I will continue to be his biggest fan.

Dr. Mitrut performed an emergency root canal for me while I was pregnant. He was professional, courteous and friendly to deal with. It was clear that be was highly skilled at his work and took time to do the work meticulously. I would highly recommend him to others looking for a highly expert yet unpretentious endodontist. Fees were reasonable (Queens office) and office staff was professional.

Dr. Mitrut did a root canal for a patient of mine, which was one of the finest root canals I've ever seen, including in the dental textbooks!
I'm a general dentist and have sent patients to a lot of endodontists over the years.
