Read Reviews for Dr. Michael Thorne
Dr. Thorne has done work in my mouth such as root canals and crowns, Everything he did had to be redone by another dentist. I looked him up and found that he has been involved in more than a few lawsuits. Scary!

This is by far the dentist you want to stay away from! I had one root canal Dr. Thorne sealed with an infected root he only treated halfway! The root was a large obvious root that was easily seen on an X-ray! Dr. Thorne at first refused to accept he did the procedure after looking at the damning X-rays! After he accepted responsibility, he attempted to correct the problem only to result in years of pain, loss of a tooth, loss of gum, and loss of bone! My jaw is permanently disfigured... As a result, I had a tooth extracted by his office only to find out 6 months later he left large pieces of rotten tooth in my jaw that had to be removed with a bone saw and a rude oral surgeon and 3 hours of smelling burnt bone at Mission Dental. While working on the same extraction, Dr. Thorne injected anesthesia into my blood vein, failing to check the syringe for blood before he injected the medicine into my vein, causing the room to violently spin as I lost consciousness... I woke up with the Dr. Thorne sternly demanding the nurse to call 911, by far the most frightening dental experience in my entire life... I looked up the Dr. And found he had been sued multiple times for malpractice and at least one case where the judge ruled against him.. I sued the dentist, and in court he told the judge he does not offer a five-year warranty on his crowns and bridges... under oath... when everyone in his office and my dental insurance have told me he offers a five-year warranty on his crowns and bridges. Dr. Thorne installed a bridge that was determined defective, from the day he installed it by a professor at USC, and he refused to replace it! His office manager June told me they have a five year warranty on all crowns and bridges but that they will not honor it for me! Dr. Thorne also owns another dental group in Ventura off of Partridge Drive. Dr. THORNE DOES BAD WORK THEN REFUSES TO FIX IT!!!!!!!

I wish I still lived in the area, because I really trust Dr. Thorne's evaluation. I went to him a few years ago after another dentist said I needed a lot of fillings (~8), and Dr. Thorne recommended only 2. Since then each time he has just done a cleaning and things have been good. My wife (then girlfriend) recommended him to me first, and has been pleased with his work. She has had some trouble with the office staff, but they have always been easy for me to work with.
